I was listening to the radio the other day, and a caller to the radio show said something really outrageous (I can't remember what) ad it made one of the hosts say "Holy Smokes!" I don't know why, but I found that really funny and started laughing. w

"Holy Smokes" sounds pretty corny. But what are they gonna do on the air? Unless it's cable, they stand to be fined big time if they exclaim the wrong thing. My 7 year old grandson always says "What the!!" I don't think he even knows the rest of that exclamation. My own tend to range from "No s/he didn't!" to "No way!" to "Well, son of a seagoing seahorse!" to more colorful, more commonly used phrases that may not be appropriate here...hahaha, but I'm sure you get the idea.

I normally end up saying "Holy cow" or "Holy Crap" but I have a friend that is constantly saying "Holy cat" and I can't help but giggle about that...everytime that she says that I just think why is she saying that? Why holy cats? Hehehehe...like you it just sounds different and a little strange to me everytime she says it.

Most of what I say I can't repeat here. Let me put it to you this way. When I'm suprised a wonderfully colorful string of words comes from my lips. Most from the English Language, some from Japanese, and perhaps a couple others I'm not sure. Mind you I'm not fluint in Japanese, but I do know a few choice words. And some unplessent, but not so-much-choice words. So, it just depends.
