Hello to all of you Brits! I live in America, and I have to tell you that I am so jealous of you guys because of the BBC. They always seem to do something interesting, and I wish we had an equivalent in America. Anyways, I'm writing this because I'm listening to the Essential Mix, which is a BBC radio show, and it's great. Unfortunately, I have to download them if I want to listen to them, and the quality is so-so. Anyways, what are your guys' favorite BBC programs? God how I wish I were British lol. Cheers!

Hi speedlover,, I'm Irish but I do listen to BBC, they have some great shows on the radio. I used to listen to Johnathon Ross all the time. You do have BBC America for the TV, right? I can't see why they don't do the same for the radio programmes

Yah we get BBC TV, but I don't think we get everything you get because aren't there a lot of subchannels of the BBC? It seems like everything interesting the BBC was involved in lol. Like Planet Earth, which is SO cool lol. Cheers!

Yeah there are four BBC TV channels that we get here. I think BBC America just Showcase the best of the BBC, like the Torchwood mini series and such

I'm in England and my daughter is in NC. Well she's here right now getting over jet lag. But I know that she uses BBC America and the World Service. Can you get BBC iPlayer there? You may not be able to get the TV shows, but you might get the radio. The "Beeb" as it is sometimes called, does produce some wonderful programmes - personally I like "You and Yours" and have to listen to "The Archers" as it is the Boss's (wife) favourite soap.

That's interesting. I would have thought that you could get BBC from the North. I know that various online stations allow some access to UK stations - but it's very trial and error.

I like BBC and VOA,coz I can improve my English via that. And there are many BBC programms on line that we can download, and they are really great for Chinese guys.In China, there is so rare good English radio or tv,and I must go to listen abroad radio via internet, and so if I have enough money to go to Britain,I must buy a good radio to enjoy BBC.

I love BBC! We get some programs on PBS but I use their web site a lot. Even their new reporting is better than anything here. They are more informative and very interesting.

I was thinking of the US just the other day, when the BBC had a jazz program on. It was a kind of "duffers guide" to modern jazz, and it was hilarious - not a send-up, but covered the subject in a totally unique way with los of comedy sketches in between the serious stuff. I do stream American channels when I'm working, but a lot of it seems to be automated rather than live DJ's. Then again, some of the UK DJ's suck. You're right though - it's the one thing the Beeb do that's good. Well, that and David Tennant (Casinova's on tonight - yippee!)

I'ts great that you love Aunty Beeb as we call it here. It really is a national institution that we pay for with the licence fee of course, but the positive upside from this are NO ADVERTS!! Bliss!! :-)
