I believe at some point it does affect people negatively on those areas you mentioned. I heard children who are constantly exposed to games (PSP, nintendo, etc) are prone to developing ADHD. Being exposed to multiple colors all the time kind of affect the brain. Some of these technologies are also huge distractions so if the teens doesn't know how to prioritize, then these technologies will surely be negative for them. Actually these kinds of innovations are not at all evil to all of us. We just need to assess their true importance and know how important they are and learn how to use them properly. The internet is a very useful tool in learning but because people doesn't know how to prioritize, they tend to use the internet for other things not at all relevant to their lives. Teens can use the internet for studying and for leisure too but it's when they don't know which one to do first or which one to do often, that they get confused. Music players or celphones can be tools for studying too because they can have useful applications (dictionary, spelling, etc) or can store important data (notes, etc). I think teens should just be able to see these types of technology in a positive way. They should know how useful they are for their studies and learning. I also think technology helps in broadening a person's horizons and it even refrains a teen from going out too often. lol. I think the negative effects of the new technology only arise when people stop prioritizing, gets addicted to something and forgetting about balance.
