So... are you finished holiday shopping?

I am not able to spend much this year for the holidays because I just bought a home and have greater expenses, and also because I had to take a pay cut recently so my income isn't quite as high as it was last year. I am only buying a few presents, but I am trying to make them good ones. I have gotten most of my shopping done but still ahve a little to go. I already bought my boyfriend's present, and I am getting somethign little for my mother. At work they do a secret santa, so I am somewhat obligated to participate in that, but there is a $15 limit, so it isn't too bad. I always say I am going to start earlier next season, but here it is just a week and a half to Christmas and halfway through December and I have not finished yet! Ugh -- How about you?

we got our christmas presents early this year so there is no shopping to do at this time. We don't have any young children so we don't do much except maybe a turkey supper for Christmas and that is about it.

I have TWO more presents to buy! One is for my sister's boyfriend, which is totally optional, but I am defiintely going to get him something (even though he may not get ME anything..Who cares. I want to do it.) I'm getting him a Chipotle $20 gift card (He's a CHIPOTLE FIEND!) and my boss, who I'm getting a Target gift card for (not sure what the dollar amount is going to be). Unfortunately, the next day I get paid on is going to be the 24th of Decemeber (aka Christmas eve!) which is going to make me one of those people who shop during the last minute crunch. But that's OK. They're easy enough to get ahold of.

I am done all of my shopping, and all that is left for me to do is wrap the gifts that I bought for my husband, and for him to wrap mine. We took care of family shopping, and all the gifts have been sent and delivered. My husband and I are going away for the holidays, so we made it our mission to see everyone ahead of time.

Until now I haven't done shopping. I guess next week I will going to start my shopping. I have my list but I have second thoughts if those on the list are the things my family really wants. I do a lot of savings right now, actually the gifts are from cause cuttings. Those on the list are the gifts that are very useful for them. I can't give them a new cellphone or new camera which they wants, those things are I believe useful for them. I hope they still like it. You are more lucky, you , you haven't finished it how about me haven't started anything yet.

Hello, Wow, aren't you lucky to buy a home. I wish I could do the same but times are tough. I thought that I was DONE with my christmas shopping, but it's like every week, we find more and more people gets added on because they tend to ask, " oh what does your kids want for xmas?" I mean sheesh, doesn't anyone understand that that it's hard now a days! lol

I've just finished all of my shopping I believe. I've ordered a few last minute gifts from the net for the people that I had to finish buying for. I've finished buying gifts for my secret santa at work so the only people I had left to buy for were my grandparents and my partners sister so now I'm officially done. I'm quite glad too because I haven't had much time to go shopping this year. I'm working now so I'm constantly busy or always tired.

Mostly done with shopping for the kids. Mostly not done shopping for anybody else. I'll probably do most of the rest of it next week when I'm off work.

I am done, primarily because my wife does the shopping. I hate buying gifts and trying to figure out what to get people, ugh is right.

I am done, but only because we ran out of money. The husband and I have decided to celebrate Valentines next year and make that our Christmas also. I always start my shopping during the summer because I go to garage sales and often find great homemade items that fit someone on my list to a T. Actually it is only because of these summer finds that we are able to give to everyone on our list. We both have large families. I think that next year I am going to decide on a craft and make gifts.

I finished almost everybody. For my husband's family I will be making homemade gift trays with cookies, candy, fudge and bar cookies. I will start making this stuff on Wednesday and hope to get it all done by Friday night. I still have some wrapping to do. I just hope I can keep the cats away from the wrapping paper.

I just need to finish baking so I can put together my Christmas trays. (My hubby has to go to work early in the morning, so I can get it done then. Last night he helped me with the Ginger bread cookies. He liked putting the shapes into the dough. I also have to wrap my husband's gifts so he won't peek. He still acts like a child this time of the year. I know how you feel about money being tight. It has been for us too. I am hoping next year will be better for us. Now that I am on here I think I can make money on here and will just keep it in here until November. My goal is to make about $400.00 between this site and a couple of survey sites I belong to.

I'm spending less this year than last year as well. I already have all my sister's presents. I'm almost through with getting presents for my brother-in-law. We did set a limit on how much to spend on each other. This morning I went to Gordman's department store and got one of my mom's presents. It was the first time in a while I'd been shopping without her. Kind of hard to shop for a person when they are with you. I've got pretty much everyone's shopping done except for my dads. He is so hard to buy for. But I have some ideas.

Hi Bethany, I finished my Christmas' shopping last week to be exact, I recently moved from Rhode Island to California so money is tight and without a job right now I had to be really careful with how much money I spent on gifts. I use to go overboard and buy for everyone and than if someone bought for me and I didn't know, I use to feel bad and feel obligated to go out and buy them something even if it was after Christmas. For the last few years that's stopped and I've only bought for my mom, younger brother, my god mother and a few close friends. It just gets too expensive to buy for everyone, if you can afford it than great but I'm sure money is tight for a lot of us these days. I couldn't afford to get really expensive gifts this year but I figure it's the thought that counts and many people I know love getting small gifts or a few inexpensive things that way they have more presents to open. I'd rather receive a bunch of small gifts than a very expensive one anyways, I've always been that way since I was a small child. I could never be someone who decided to start their Christmas shopping and finish it on Christmas Eve, talk about stressful lol, thanks but no thanks. If you enjoy waiting until the last minute which some people do than go for it but I could never do that. I'm also not one of these people who could start their Christmas shopping when the New Year begins, how do you know that someone else won't buy that same gift for someone for their birthday and it's just rushing it too much if you ask me. Congrats on your new home by the way, that must have been exciting!!

I have to say first - Kugoes on New Home! Congrats. I also can not believe all the response that most people are done with their shopping. I mean I haven't begun and man its already the 15th. presents will be light this year. We moved across country so we going light on the spending until we recoup the savings. Secret Santa. I so wish they would stop the Secret Santa thing at work. It makes people who can not afford to particiate feel bad. I will be shopping on December 24th!
