Will you slow down if there is a sidewalk ahead?

I have to cross the road on my way to work.(You cant imagine how i hate it.)Luckily, the palce where I live is just a small town and usually, there isnt much traffic. But during the rush hours, when are also my usual time to go across the road,it is a little busy.I really get annoyed because car drivers and bus drivers seem to pay no attention to the sidewalk, which is supposed to help people cross the road safely. What makes me angrier is that some even sound the horn! They speed up instead of slowing down and let pedestrians go first. How indecent! There's a school nearby.I wish I could do something to change it,but I dont know how to start.I said to myself,I will slow down if there is a sidewalk ahead anytime after I have my own car one day.And I will also be careful not to splash water on pedestrians on rainy days.So pls be a civilized driver and help reduce the road accidents. Thanks for reading through and your support is greatly appreciated.

Yes, sweet, I agree with you completely! What you said is also common here! As per revised traffice law, drivers must slow down where the crosswalks are. But unfortunately, like you said, they speed up instead of slowing down. It's so dangerous to cross a road here. And we also read some reports about people were killed on crosswalk by speeding drivers. So I just wonder if the traffic law works well or not. And why should we pay the police?

Maybe we should make it clear in the driving test.Let people who are going to drive their own cars keep it in mind before hand.
