How many times per week do you seriously exercise?

I am really impressed with people going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. My initial thought is that I would never find the time to do that! But then, I guess I could go to the gym rather than writing on the web...
I do some sport - I go dancing once a week. That's it really, but I guess I am still quite fit. I (nearly) always take the stairs instead of the elevator - and as I am forgetful I tend to go up and down and up and down! And I constantly running around doing that and this. I'm not good in sitting still!
What about you - do you seriously exercise? Do you try to keep fit?

I hit the gym everyday and work out for about an hour. I do mostly cardio, and some days I'll encorporate a little weight lifting. It feels really good to excersize, and even better when you set up goals for yourself and then actually achieve them!

Wow that's a lot of exercise. I do many other things in the evenings, so I wouldn't be able to go that much.

It is important to find time for excersize. It's one of the best things you can do for yourself. My husband works 50+ hours a week, but he still makes a point to go every morning before work to get a half hour work out. It's not that difficult if you just get rid of the excuses. If a mom and working dad of 5 kids can find time to work out, then anyone can.

No I don’t exercise at all! I am too worked off as it is with my daily routine to even think of exercising. Managing home and office and child and studies and cooking and cleaning….blah blah blah…may be if I do exercise, I would be more energetic (at least people have told me so) but I feel that if I push my joints and muscles any more, they’ll just collapse in a heap LOL

They say doing a workout gives you more energy. But it sounds as if your day-to-day life keeps you on your toes already!

Hi there taraelocin, I was surprised when I realized your post. I don't get any exercise at all. Oh my. I need to have one. I mean, I don't even go to any dancing class, gym, or even do some stretching at home. After I get up, do morning hygienic rituals I immediately go to work. Oh no. Thanks for posting tis question. I must do even stretching in the morning or I'll be burn out. That's not good. =)

I normally excercise every night just before I go to bed .I run onn the same spot for about twenty minutes followed by then push ups and then I go to bed.Lately however I am having trouble doing this routine because my feet are hurting me ,I guess it old age .The routine though has seen me lost a few pounds from my waist

That's consistent! You must have a lot of self control. Don't push yourself too far though.

I seriously work out..ONCE a week. If even. I find that school and having two part time jobs keeps me incredibly busy. But I usually manage to squeeze in a 2 hour session, usually on fridays. It doesn't necessarily keep me fit (as I would imagine that would take much more time & persistance) but I like knowing that at least I'm making SOME kind of effort. I envy the people who can go 3-4 times a week..That's gotta take A LOT of motivation!

I imagine that keeps you busy. I'm sure doing sport once a week is better than none at all. So you surely are on the right track.

If you like it I am sure you incorporate some exercise automatically in your day to day life. It doesn't have to be the gym after all.

OMG I so miss exercising!! I use to workout 3 to 5 times a week but the past yr I've been so darn busy I've not been able to at all...Even this past summer I only went for 1 bike ride compared to the usual 5 or more power rides every week (weather permitting of course)...but I was babysitting all summer from 5am til 3pm then had my own kids to take care of and the usual housework etc.....MY PLAN once the holidays are over is to start workin out again becuase I really do not only miss it but NEED to ya know...

Wow, you are all athletic! But it's true, you usually feel more energised after a good workout.

I don't exercise nearly as much as I should or as much a doctor would tell me too. I try and use the Treadmill and Ab Lounge 4-5 times a week but I haven't noticed good results, since I am trying to lose weight and get into better shape. I know as it takes time to put weight on, it takes time to take it off and it comes easier for some than others. I use to go to the gym 5 days a week until I couldn't afford it anymore, my friends and I would go and it was great motivation. My problem is I end up on the computer, watching TV or playing video games when I could be working out at home doing simple exercises or going to my neighbors who lets me use the exercise equipment I mentioned or even going for a walk. I use to always be active as a kid, riding my bike, playing sports, out and about doing things and I'll admit I got really lazy but I want to try and get into better shape. It will be better for my health in the long run since a lot of bad health problems run in my family. I know your either going to be diagnosed with something or your not but I'd like to try and prevent certain health aliments from happening too me if I can.
Oh and I always prefer the stairs to an elevator, I've taken the stairs and gotten up there faster at the mall than the people who took the elevator lol so it isn't always the fastest way! and hey at least it's exercise, right?

4 to 5 times a week is a lot! I don't think you should do much more than that! I spend a lot of time on the computer, but I constantly get up getting a drink, answering the phone, opening a window, closing a window! I just can't sit still!
