I have a Christmas story for you, it is only a Christmas story because of the time of year.
This story is about 5 wonderful men who have been helping my daughter and me in our rescue of animals and other belongings for our friend who is in jail.
The weather has been icy and the roads all but impassable for most of this story, we are all having to travel about 25 miles into the mountains to do the work necessary.
We had 8 dogs, 5 goats, two cows and multiple chickens that needed immediate care, the water was frozen so we were hauling water and feed to all these animals. My first hero is J he is a contractor with two small children to care for, he has a
crew of about 5 men who he has been finding small jobs for so that they can feed their families and jobs are very few around here so just finding the work is a full time job. For the last two weeks he has helped us in the rescue about 5 hours a day
doing anything that was necessary, please understand that all involved in this have little to no money. The next hero is D who has traveled up to feed and care for animals two times each day, he was able to take one of the dogs into his care to foster until a home could be found. He hauled water and fed the animals that remained. The third hero is B he owns a ranch that could take the goats and cows,
these are elderly animals and needed a retirement home for the rest of their lives,
he took time each day to visit and help where he could until the road thawed enough to get a stock trailer in. He did this for about 2 weeks. The fourth hero is A and he provided space for two dogs and storage for belongings of the owner's personal property. Money came from him and other equipment needed to get water to the animals. Then F showed up, he had been working in another state and returned to do most of the heavy lifting and hauling. All this done in the mud and ice. Two weeks into this all that remains is the relocation of the 30 chickens. All other animals are safely housed. An area for the chickens must be built and all these guys will help this week-end to build this. All this work was done for free, time that would have been spent on other things in their lives was given to the project
and a simple thank you plus the knowledge that they helped is what they receive in return. So let's all give them a hand and then look around and see how many other unsoung heroes there are in our lives.

What a wonderful bunch of guys!! I thank you for telling us about this. Some of us are all alone at this time of year--we have relative but we're alone in our houses. We feel lonely. Reading about something like this warms my heart and lets me know that there are so many truly good people out there that genuinely care about others.

What a heartfelt story to know all these guys pitched in for free to help out all the animals. I wish we could hear more stories like this from now on. There are to many horrible things happening in the world today. Thank you so much for sharing a good story and God Bless all thoses men who have help you and will do so again this weekend.

Hi savypat, This is truly a good story and shows that there many wonderful people left in the world. Many times we are much too negative in our thoughts about others. Sometimes these things seem to happen more often at Christmas time but I think they happen all year around. I feel sure that the five men you mention would do the same at any time of year if it was necessary. Blessings.

I think there are angels here on earth disguised as humans! They are the ones who go out of their way to help but do not have the need to talk about it or receive accolades! They are a rarity in this day and age and they are to be applauded. We don’t often appreciate the unsung heroes of our society and it is about time that we took the time to celebrate them by living by their example.

Hi,Pat.This is amazing.God bless these people,I hope their families will be rewarded with serenity and happiness. There are so many people who claim they care about animals, but when it comes to actions, they're so busy and tired.Sometimes they call it waste of time,or waste of money. But this is what makes us humans - helping those who aren't as strong as we are. They can't hire a lawyer when they face injustice. They depend on us and they trust us.Thanks for good story,I'll tell my friends they're still good people out there.

This was the intent of the story, I feel when we see people like this after thanking them you need to pass on their good deeds. We hear way to much about those that do evil and not nearly enough that just the ordinary folks that help ;when there is need. Thanks
