What are your favourite frugal books? Which books helped or inspired you the most and which had the best tips/instructions?
As well as instructional books like the Tightwad Gazette, what about books about people who lived frugally or with frugal characters that inspired you? E.g. "The Little House On the Prarie" or "Hovel in the Hills*

In my household, I am not working right now and my husband only gets less than $1900 a month. WE have a family of 5 and we all squeeze into a sedan. Crazy, huh? So I did research on the internet. Then I went to bookstores. i found this free book in a bin there, call Frugal Living for Dummies. Ironc, huh? Nothing more frugal than getting a frugal book for free... It has EVERYTHING about being frugal, from rent to office supplies to furniture. It shows how to be furgal at the store, at garage sales. picking an apartment, lowering the electric bill. But you really hav to abidre by the rules or you will have no results. This book is excellent, I know I am such a nerd for reading it front to back, but it is excellent for anyone wanting to save money in all the nicks and crannies...

When my husband wasn't working, we accumulated a lot of debt. Now we are trying to pay everything off as quickly as possible. We are very frugal and because I enjoy cooking, I can make meals at very little cost and make in quantities that I can freeze.
I read the Tightwad Gazette years ago and use it for inspiration. I don't wash out my baggies and reuse them, but a lot of her suggestions make sense. I also like the frugal section of About.com., including crafting on a budget. You can sign up for newsletters on any subject and get great ideas. Now they call it being green, but basically it is being thrifty and reusing instead of buying new. I also like to go to the thrift shops too.

I dont know of any books on frugality. I have read a few on living simple and many times they are making the most of what we have instead of buying new things and it goes hand in hand. I have loved the simple living for dummys book. Id love to get a list of more books to read though. This is a very intersting topic. I cant wait to see what comes up.
Thank you.

Frugal is the name of the game in 2010 - We are trying to save money any way we can. I try to use coupons more often now too.
