My cats LOVE to disturb my sleep!

..Do yours, too? Seriously. They always find SOME way to keep me up when I'm trying desperately to get a few hours of shut eye. Whether it's meowing at the door to get out (they're indoor-outdoor cats, but by now, they should know better than to meow at the door when it's nighttime! They don't, though, of course), skittering around playing with a pen on the floor (or something..Cats seem to make toys out of anything), play-fighting right next to my bed, running around the house, scratching at the cat box, whatever it is. This happens EVERY night. EVERY single night. I love my cats, Missy and Dainty, but this is a bit much if you ask me. Does this happen to you, too? Does it ever seem like your cats have the OPPOSITE schedule as you? Sleep all day and party all night? It seriously gets annoying and there seems to be nothing I can do about it. Hopefully some of you can relate!

Tell me about it, I have 3 cats and they are a pain in the a**s, they wait till 3 o'clock in the morning before they wake me up to be let out, clawing the carpet and the side of the bed..

we have lots of cats.one of our cats love sleeping next to us on our bed.once she sees the door open, she will come in and climb the bed.she will find a comfortable spot and snoozes off.while she does that, she rarely disturbs us while we are asleep.we don't even know she is in the bed until we roll over something furry.she does bother us when she hear the sound of plastic bags opening.she thinks it's food,so she will meow endlessly until we give her something.

Hi Maezee, well when I had the 4 Cats believe me they did apart from one of them as she loved her sleep lol I have a little Dog though who is great at Night and is fast asleep before I am, but when I lie down in the Afternoon and he gets bored after an hour he will jump all over the bed and bark until I get up the only time he does not do it is if I am really sick with my Illness lol But Cats are the worse of having Play time at Night lol

I make sure there's plenty of food down at night so they don't wake me for that. But sometimes they do wake me for loving. I just pet them and go back to sleep. On the other hand, my kids just close the door.

My daughters baby cat is like that.I have a new job now and he likes to get under the covers and mess with your feet, but sometimes not even to mess with your feet.He just likes to be under the cover and to goof off and we can't figure out why.He also just likes to roam around the house and meow and play with everything. Our older cat is much too tired to act that way,but trust me,the baby cat acts like that. However, there are a few nights when she's fixed the problem. She plays with him a lot during the day (she works at home) and wears him out. It's suggested if you work outside the home or go to school that you should play with them about an hour before you go to bed so that they are tired around bed-time and will go with you. There are times when her baby cat insists on sleeping in the bed with her if she follows that.He has his own bed,but he likes being close to her sometimes.

Really? That's cute, actually, but how sleepy you must be, because they will try their very best to keep you awake. I think they are worried and not convinced that you are resting. And for it to happen every night; hmmmmmmmmmp, that's worrying too. It can get annoying, I understand. How about you confine them to a particular room at night with toys and food while you sleep until the next morning?

My cat is lovely too, and when i want to sleep the cat can keep quiet. Sometimes the cat can climb the bed and sleep with me. It is interesting.

Cats as a rule are mostly night animals. They like to sleep on and off during the day, but when night fall comes they are wide awake. I by nature am a night owl, so most of what they do goes unnoticed by me. However, George on the other hand beggs to differ. Espically when it comes to Precious. If he doesn't fallow me into the bedroom when I'm ready to sleep then he's scratching at the door to get in less then a minute later. If that's not a problem, He jumps up beside me and purrs which for some reason disturbs George. I don't see where his purring would be a problem, but apparently George would dissagree even though Precious stays on the other side of the bed, my side of the bed. Our other two are generally well behaved. Except now Chenia has taken to howling when she plays with her toys like she's some kind of wild attack animal. She has only done this twice, and both times at night. Though she mostly does this early morning when George and I are still asleep.

It's also a headach for me when I raise my Sweat. She played until midnight and then started to play around in 5 p.m., I was so exhausted and finally had to return to her owner. I love cats but I'd rather to have a quiet one. lol

Yes, it happened to me too. Cats are generally nocturnal. They like to play, jump and be active at night. Lately it's been cold and my cats are not active at night. They're always sleeping and all curled up, as if the cold night air is making them lazy. But I also had those nights when they just couldn't stop running, interrupting my sleep on the process. Either way, I still find them adorable. I'm a certified cat lover.

Well, if it's any consolation, cats are nocturnal so they are likely to be more active at night. Also, it seems to me that they want attention and because they aren't getting their own way (as you want to sleep and quite right too) they act up. It's worse when there is more than one because they have each other to play with! I don't know what the solution is, to be honest. Are they related or not? My Mum's cats are mother and daughter and tend to play-fight in one spot so are not running around. The bedrooms are no-go areas both at night and during the day. The room they do have though is huge and they will sleep at the top of the stairs on occasion (during the day). Me and hubby have just the one cat and all she wants to do is be with me when I sleep, usually on my pillow! I always keep the bedroom door open because I know for a fact she will scratch at it if I don't. Also, if we suddenly introduced another cat into the family (highly unlikely) she will go MENTAL as she does not like other cats at all.

well cat's are really night creatures if you ask me. Why don't you put them in a room where they can't destroy or damage anything. I have a cat that has a disorder excessive meowing and he does this everytime and it's so loud you can hear him in the 2nd floor! One thing is for sure, if you want to sleep place them in a separate room that they can be comfortable with.
