Why me?

Self pity - Self pity makes a person blind from seeing the realities of life

We often hear this expression "Why me?" from those who are burdened with some problem or the other but little do they realise that there is not a single person on earth who is not burdened. Every country, every State, Every city and village have countless hospitals, doctors, nurses, pharmacies, which obviously are there because people fall sick and that some think that only they are afflicted. It is possible that people hide their miseries from others giving a glorious picture of their life which one needs to know before making a martyr of themselves. Do yo say "Why me?"

Once in a while, I still say why me, but then again, why NOT me? Good things and bad things happen equally to all human beings at some point in life, and when we remember that, we're less likely to say why me? Karen

Hello Karen, I'll try to remember that. That good things will equally happen. I've been running my fair share of bad things that I am bound to have some good luck. Fingers crossed. Thanks.

When people complain too much.. (In this "Why me?" sense) It's just annoying! I feel like we all have these issues that we need to deal with in our lives; no one's life is perfect. Of course, some do have it worse than others, but still. This "why me?" attitude gets so old, and plus, it's not a PRO-ACTIVE attitude. The people who are in bad situations should put themselves in a mind-set to get OUT of said bad situation, not try to pity themselves (as pity never seems to get us anywhere.) I like to be a little bit more modest about my troubles, and although I have a tendency to complain and occasionally rant about them, I'm constantly working to re-arrange my life and priorities so that these issues..Slowly disappear. Know what I mean? I probably don't make sense. Not enough sleep has caused me to start talking in circles. (Or typing. Whichever.) . I think a little humor never hurt anyone, too. Humor and determination has gotten me through quite a bit these past few years, and I hope more to come!

You are absolutely true. Everyone has something they are going through. I always try to keep things in perspective and think about how there are always so many people that have things worse than myself, and I need to appreciate everything I do have.

Hi, allknowing. When I went through all of my trials and tribulations in my life, this is one question that I would constantly ask myself. I learned that people whom are going through different circumstances ask themselves the same question. But I know that we are all burdened with grief and sadness so I just understand that what I had to go through in life was all planned and created by God. It was destined for me to experience strain and pressure. This is part of God's plan to being a Christian here on Earth.

I used to ask "why me," then I finally listened to the Lord and started to ask,"Lord, what do you want me to learn from this situation?" It is in the book of Job that one person said we should be asking, "Where is He that gives me songs in the night?"

hi allknowing no I do not as I have learned in a long lifetime life is never fair so why not me? i am not anything special so hard luck just comes into my life as it does to others and we can face it and overcome it eventually or let it destroy us, we do have some choices and we can overcome in time if we just hang in there and hope and try.no I never say why me.

Yes, I just utter these two words a thousand time today. Why Me????I screamed at the four corners of my room. Currently I am undergoing an impossible heart aches, so painful that I asked God why me, why not other women who are strong. Why me despite of my being obedient to the rules in life? But then I realized that I have no right to ask God why. I wanna solve this alone.

Hi allknowing,Most people have that kind of expression as if normal for them to ask Why me? or why not me? If there something good or bad happens to their life? In my part, before it was my expression with my friends just like jokes only.Years passed in my life i've learned that asking question why me? or wny not me? is not good because as if you were blaming our God why it happens to you.As i've heard to our church lectures we don't have the right to question. It is better to accept what happens and do some prayers to cope up with what problems bothers us.Thanks, for the nice topic,Good Day!

I never did as I was growing up. I've had the best opportunities in life, and I have made the best of what I got. I have recognized that there are others who have gotten it worst than me, so I learned to be content. This year, has been a trying year. Curve balls have been thrown left, right and center. What once has been just merely a whisper at the back of my mind, has become a numbing scream in front of me, why me? I try not to voice it, yet when I am alone I can't help but blurt it out.

Better change that irritating term of "Why Me?" into, " If not me who else?" It is more convincing to hear, well it is you because it is you, never thought of someone who would like to take your misery and trouble. Things happen for a purpose so better find that purpose first before letting others do it for you. You should question yourself with, " How will I do this?" instead of looking for excuses and pointing fingers to other people.
