What are your hopes for 2010?

I just responded to a discussion asking what my happiest moments of 2009 have been. This discussion actually gave me the idea to start this discussion, because 2009 has been a pretty rough year for me and my family. The good thing about the last year is that I have made some progress in recovering from some of the mistakes I made in 2008. I made some really bad financial decisions in 2008, and my family has had to suffer the consequences of my lack of judgment. During most of 2008, and the first part of 2009, I was really lost, and I really didn't know which way to turn. I was just kind-of hanging in limbo for almost a year, and I really didn't see any hope. I had no idea what I was going to do. However, since mid-2009, I have made some progress in getting my life back on track. I made some arrangement to start paying back some of the debt I had accumulated through the mistakes I made, and through the reduction in income I had to face. Since I started really trying to work on the problems, I have realized that things were not nearly as bad as I thought they were. I battled a severe case of depression for almost a year, and that caused me to suffer more severely than I really had to during this time. I have moved past that now, and thanks to the efforts I have made to correct the problems, and thanks to some financial help from my dad, things are finally starting to look up again.
As long as nothing else really bad happens, and if things keep going like they are going, things will continue to move towards some of the goals I have set for 2010. I hope to use my income-tax return to pay off a couple of debts that are putting a major strain on my wife and I financially right now. We are planning to try to use the money to pay off my truck, and to hopefully pay off her car as well. Hopefully, we will be able to do this, and doing so will reduce the amount we have to pay out each month by almost $450. This will be a tremendous help, and that extra money each month will allow us to start paying off some other stuff, and to maybe even have a little money left each month.
Everything else in our life is going pretty well. We have been married for almost nine years, we have a nice house (nothing fancy, but it is a good place in a good neighborhood), and unless something tears up, we have decent cars to drive. We are both pretty stable in our jobs now, and we have pretty much anything else that we could ask for in life. Our financial situation has been the source of most of our problems for a while now, but thankfully, there may finally be some light at the end of the tunnel for us in that area as well.
So, I guess my hopes and goals for 2010 is that things keep moving in a positive direction for us in the coming year, especially as far as our financial situation is concerned. What are your hopes and goals for the coming year??

Hello, Dawn. I'm sure you'll have the strength to do what you have to. The kids are safe with you, and if your husband doesn't realise how lucky he is to have you, he just doesn't deserve you.

...Hi goldeneagle, Well I tend to like even numbers and thus 2010 fiys that category and I am hoping that many good things hppen for me during the coming year. I don't usually set goals bu I think that I will try to build a portfolio of stocks that will pay dividends, instead of having to worry about selling if the market goes down. I will have to do a little research for that. I want to lose some weight, I have started to get my mind made up to attack that monster mindset.
Where there's a will there's a way. "o) One goal is about increasing input where I have been a bit slow, I'll see if I can move on that front. I want to start my oil painting again, so I will start by purchasing some canvases to work with. Now right away I am getting mentally exhausted with what I am saying, that is why I don't do goal setting, I blame that on my artist genes, I like doing things whenever and not on a set basis. So there you are, a few things that I am going to jot dowm for myself and see where I am, come June maybe. Have a great 2009. By the way Omega-3 oil is good for mood swings. Glad you are doing better.
Did you think about refinancing your two car loans for lower payments? Take care.

Well, thank you for sharing all of that. You have been through some trials and tribulations and fortunately for you seem to be moving toward a more secure future. You are definitely not alone. The past few years for me have been filled with a variety of ups and downs. n 2007 we welcomed the birth of my 4th daughter which was a wonderful time! We have managed to finally settle down into a nice home in a nice area, along with other good memories. And then there have been the downs, my wonderful uncle had passed away, there were times when we were at a loss of what to do like when my husband lost his job and was forced to live on unemployment for awhile. And then, my one teen age daughter went through some tough times and was placed into a treatment center. All in all though, things seem to be improving and like yourself, in 2010 I only hope that things continue in the right direction!
We have had many experiences over the past few years alone. And, the best I can do, is learn from all and from my mistakes and not make the same mistakes again! Best Wishes to you for the new year!!

My main goal for this coming year is to continue to become healthier. I've lost about 50 lbs so far, but I still have more to go... between 40 and 60 more pounds. I hope to reach that goal by April. Then my goal for the rest of my life will be to maintain my new, healthy weight.
Aside from that I don't really have any other goals. I know our situation won't change over the next year. I still cannot go find work because my youngest will not be in school for a few more years, and I refuse to send him to a sitter. My husband's job probably won't change either, although it would be nice if he got a little raise.

i hope that is going to be a bether year for me and my gf we whant to get out of the financiar crizes becouse we cant stand it eny more we would love to make a trip to the USA :P and we hope for a cleaner and healthyer life :P :D

Pass the end of college life in a happy way.
And successfully received two bachelor's degrees.
That is my biggest hope.
And I want a truly independent life rather than relying on my parents.

Yoiu had had a very diffucult yeasr. I think the depression makes it a lot worse. But yoiu have risen above the situation and are on the road to recovery of your debts and depression. I think thats all we can do, is to do things, stay active, get help and move on.
I didnt have a very good 2009. My ex husband was getting more aggressiove and finaslly I couldnt stasnd it any longer. I made him leave 6 weeks ago.
It caused me to have depression and also my 16 year old daughter.
So im hoping 2010 will be better. I want the propery sttlement to be sorted out, prefrably not too much in my ex hubbys favour.
I want to get a part time job. Ive enrolled in a course stasrting in Feb.
I want my daughter to do well in year 12 and continue her competitive swimming.
It would be the highlight of my year if I could meet a wonderful man who was capable of love.

My hope is to get rid of some debt too, its hard to get a hold of something that goes in ten different directions but it sounds like you have a solid plan to keep at it and pay it down. I hope to be more patient with my kids, I have triggers and they don't set them off, I pull them when I don't think I'm getting my way. I have to work on that, let's check back with each other next December to see how things went.

On year 2010, I want to officially launch my business, and I hope that we can get more customers from my business, so I can earn some money from it. Also, I want the girl I always like actually give me chance to be with her. Entirely, I just want to make some money on 2010, and I want the girls in my dream, that is all I want.

this year would be ended,as for me.i find that i prepare my new aim,i have decided planting,it is very strange for me,so i can expect that i would meet many difficuties from it and make some preparation for it,although i could not expect this result whether is fit for me.but i try my best to do it,i could not always imagin it well,i need to make an attempt to certificate this way to fit for me.

well my hopes in 2010 are:financial crisis should ended up and US country can be move on so all the affected country can be move on also,so that the deployment will not occured,i hope that there are many countries is still hiring foreign workers.I hope that year 2010 will be no more calamities that will happened so that there are no more families will lose there love ones and suffered pain.
For my family that i hope me and my husband have still stable jobs so that we can earned for our future life and future daughter and sons.I hope that my sister and brothers finished there studies and to have worked.And i hope that my mother will have good health and long life.And i hope that i pay all my credits in the bank and still earned money so that i can still helped my parents

My hope and wishes for every year are the same. I wish my family members, myself and my friends are in good health and live happily. I hope every one of us would help others, too. More love and peace on earth.
This coming 2010, I would have one more wish. I wish my missing cyber friend - Satish, will come back in good shape. I miss him so much. I do hope that he is here when I wake up the other morning, not letting me wait until year 2010. He is my very good friend. He chatted with me almost every day and I often helped him to harvest and plow his farm. He planted those crops that I like and decorated his farm with stuffs that I like, too. Now, his crops are all withered. He has been missing from his farm, the facebook chat box and all the facebook games, MSN and the myLot for over a week. I have sent him many messages on every possible cyber platform but have still received no reply. I do not have his phone number, so the only thing that I can do is pray.

I've had a really rough year in 2009... I guess in the coming year I hope to continue my education, get my finances in order, and cut people off who are just poison to me and who aren't a genuine friend and just put me down or bring anything negative into my life. Good luck! :)

My goals for 2010 is to continue to grow as a person. I would like to do this by being a better person to others and understanding myself at a higher level.
I would also like to continue to assist others by contributing to this world to help make it a better place.
I have some goals for housing, money etc.I would like to move into a place that would allow me to have my animals back. I definitely want to find numerous ways that I can make money. I think it is too risky to depend on one source of income.
I also hope this year I will be able to connect more with my family and give back to them. They've helped me a lot in the past couple of years and I would like to start giving back to them and all the other people who've assisted me.
I love to write and I want to start doing thing professionally with my writing. Using mylot is one way and I hope to publish some of my writing.
I also hope overall to keep my life going in a positive direction .

I just hope that the best president for the 2010 election here in the philippines will be voted. NOt just the president but also for the other positions so that this country will succeed. and for my family, i just hope that me and my husband could find a great business in order for him to stop working far from us. and to my children, i just wish that my son could be qualified in the SPED graders class for the june semester.

My hopes for this coming 2010 would be hoping I get the job that I really want. Something that I have passion for in order to stick to one job for next year. Another one would be hoping that I get to save up more and hopefully earn more online without having to test the waters like early this year when I started doing online work from home.

To get a job my friend. I hoped this would happen this year and it didn't so I'm hoping for it yet again in 2010. Thankfully, I'm not in debt...but have been in the past, not by a huge amount but enough to worry me somewhat. That has now gone so at least all I have to concentrate on now is finding a job.

I hope that 2010 will be a very controversial year. Not just because of the climate change, but i'm concerned about the global crisis.
It will be a year full of events, such as FIFA World Cup in South Africa. I fear of Africans could not have much security of thousands of people that will be in South Africa watching their national team playing football. But it's a opportunity for them, because of charity and incoming help for children and people of Africa, as we know, have the poorest countries of the whole World. I'll be cheering for my Portuguese national team, i hope that we can go further in that tournament. Speaking about my hopes and goals, i hope that as i said Portugal can go further in the World Cup, and i could get some club to play the records, 'cause i'm DJ. I also want to get myself some girlfriends and stuff. My goals are achieving good marks at school, as well as develop my DJing skill, not only for get noticed in the "night business", but to get myself some money, too.
