What do you think was the biggest event of 2009?
Obama becoming president? Jon & Kate's split? Tiger Woods' drama? Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's affiar and subsequent divorces? Susan Boyle? The murder of the couple that had 9 special needs children? Kanye West and Taylor Swift at the VMA's? Michael Jackson's death? or something else?
For me, I think Michael Jackson's death had the biggest impact- he was a major icon of music and his death was just so unexpected.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest events of 2009 was also one of the worst things to happen to our country here in the United States...I am referring to Obama taking office as president. This is a terrible thing for our country, because Obama wants to turn us into a Socialist nation, and some of the decisions he is making is going to make it much easier for Muslim terrorists to attack America...

I didn't hear about the murder... guess it wasn't extensively reported in my part of the world, or I wasn't alert enough in reading the news.
I was very sad when I heard that Jon and KAte split, espeically since they had such a lovely family. i feel the most for the children. and i still had hopes that they would see a marriage counsellor and get things sorted out since they were christians.
but I guess it was too late from their perspective.
for me, that was one of the more significant events of 2009 on the saddening front.
