Any Cliff Richard fans out there?

A certain blue bunny rabbit has been saying some awful things about my all time favourite singer, Cliff Richard. Is she in a minority? Or am I a sad and deluded old bird? Love or hate him, not many people can claim a successful career spanning over 50 years. The first time I saw Cliff live on stage, I was about 8 years old, and I've been in love ever since. The only time I can remember my mother smacking me was when I went to see 'Summer Holiday' and sat through the film 3 times. I was hours late home, and my parents were worried sick. Have you been a fan of anyone for most of your life?

I saw those comments and added a query for you over there. I wondered if Cliff is unheard of where you are just like he is here. It seems so unfair that outside of UK he is not as famous as others less worthy are. I liked his singing, the songs and his attitude to life before I left UK but then completely lost track of what he was doing. He must be old now too right? I have several that I have followed since my teens but none that I have gone wild about. If someone is/was worth it I went to see them in concert both in UK before I left and over here too. I have hundreds of 33s and even some 45s that date back a long way (remember the Samall faces, the Hollies for example) and love 'em all. Maybe Dire Straits, Phil Collins and Eric Clapton are those that I have most if not all of (including newspaper cuttings from decades ago).

Oh my goodness - he's 70! I just can't grasp that he is that old - though I guess we all are now I love how you still have your dreams Sandra!

Hello, Diana. Yes, I think it's a shame that he never really caught on in the rest of Europe and America. I think he's quite well liked in China and Japan, though, strangely enough. He doesn't bring out much these days, but when he does, it usually makes the charts. He's 70 next year, and I keep telling my husband I'm going to leave him for a younger model (Tony's 76, going on 25), because I'm sure if I actually get to meet Cliff, he'll beg me to go away with him.

Thea, as a Greek Girl you should know that god's don't have birth certificates, and Cliff is my very own love god, so I'm priming up the mincer for you. It's kebab time, and you're on the menu!

Sandra, another one of those spooky moments. NOT. Is plastic man still going, what is he about 110 now? And those nauseating songs, pass the sick bucket. Definitely not with you on this one my dear. Now let's see I've been loyal too to my crushes. Ben Kingsley, James Woods and Goran Vijinsky. Still like them all as much as I did when I discovered them, but I wouldn't call myself a fan as I don't do anything fannish, except watch their films when I can. I wouldn't queue up to see them. That reminds me, is crinkle cliffy still a virgin?

No need to kill me over Cliff my dear, he's all yours. I thought all that virgin stuff was part of his image, I've heard of that whilst trying to avoid all sight and sound of him. I didn't need to confer with the rabbit to have my own opinion on which men are a total turn off.

Thea, have you been talking to the rabbit? We have rabbit casserole on the menu after what she said about my dreamboat. No, he's not 110, he's 70 next year. I don't know whether he's still a virgin or not, but he can practice on me any time he likes. Must go and have a cold shower - I'm getting all hot and bothered again, and it could be fatal at my age! I'm with you on Ben Kingsley and James Woods, though, but I'm glad you're no competition for Cliff's affections, because he might prefer you to me, and then I'd have to step back into serial killer mode.

Hello, Gabs - nice to see someone sensible on here! I think Cliff's secret is he knows what people want and he gives it to them in bucketloads. He's also a good role model. I mean, there's been plenty of speculation about his private life, but you've never seen him plastered all over the tabloids or staggering out of a night club at stupid 0'clock with a bimbo on each arm. He's wearing well for almost 70 as well. I'm still hoping he'll meet me and fall in love at first sight, and I've told my husband if that happens, he'll just have to hand me over without a fight!

Unfortunately, no - he just laughs when I mention it. But I haven't given up hope, so we'll see if he finds it funny when Cliff comes courting. I can dream, can't I?

All day I'm walking in a dream, I think about you constantly.... Wow... yea, that's a song I love very much.... Lesson in love is damn cute and sweet... Millenium Prayer is nothing but simple words from the Bible, which is so heartrending and brings tears to my eyes.... the way they sing it and it's been performed really well. I just love all his songs. Don't Talk him is a beauty.... Can just mention all of his songs and sing them over and over again constantly....

Hello, Cobra. Yes, I love 'Constantly,' and 'Miss You Nights.' Cliff just takes the words and turns them into magic. I can't honestly think of one I dislike. Do you know 'Lucky Lips?' That's a great upbeat number, and the first song I ever heard Cliff sing live.

I am always an all time fan of Cliff Richard. Yes he is one of the most successful singer that this universe has produced. They are many singers but his career has spanned many years to make him an evergreen singer. His golden voice has serenaded people from every corners of the world and never fail to capture the hearts of people of all ages despite having new challenges in todays music scenes. I am never into these new age songs. I grew up with Cliff Richard songs and he will always be my favorite.

Hello, Zandi. You just went to the top of my Christmas list! I agree with you, not much modern music even comes close, although Ronan Keating looks as if he'll be around for a while. His new album is fantastic.

Is Cliff Richard that Christian singer who married a tennis player? I think I recall one of his christmas songs, it sounded like a nursery rhyme and was something about mistletoe. I'm not familiar with his stuff but I know a few ancient people who like him.

I thought he married her. I'm just going by what I vaguely remember from when I was just a kid. I didn't mean you're ancient but I do know a lot of oldies who like Cliff so he must have been seriously good back in the day.

Wel, I am pretty ancient, you know. And yes, he was - and still is - an excellent singer.

He didn't actually marry Sue Barker, but he was linked to her romantically. And I'm one of those ancient people who really like him.

Hello, Judith. I don't know about a legion of fans, but I'm hoping to round up enough to go on a bunny hunting expedition. You have been warned - run rabbit, run!
