When you have a decision to make, do you just make the choice and do it, or do you debate the issue with yourself? What process works better for you?

I like writing the positives and the negatives on a sheet of paper and the meditating both sides. Some times I'll call a friend and using them as a sounding board. SO far so good!

..Hi there again 1hopefulman, :o) We tend to think a bit alike. I help people with relationship problems on another site and I have often told some of them, when they are struggling with something, whether to leave a situation or stay or whatever. I ask them to take a sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle and write all the positive things you can think of on one side of the paper, and all the negtives on the other side. Then go back over the sheet and give all the things you have written down a weight of importance from 1 to 10, then add them up, see which side is higher. That may give them an insight into what would be the better thing to do. Yourway is working for you and that is the important thing. Take care. Thanks.

what i do is try in look at my past and see what i went threw if had made the decision already in the past. i choose what worked best. if not than i choose what i feel is best and if it doesn't work out i try something else. its trial and error.

....Hi elmiko, It sounds as if you have found a formula that works well for you. You look to your past experiences for an answer to a current problem, apply it and if it works, then great. If it doesn't, then you start all over again until you find the solution for the situation. Sounds like a very good plan to me. Thanks so much for your response. Take it easy.

Definitely debate the issue over and over going over what will happen if I choose A or B... And then eventually make a decision, haha.

..Hi amandaauc, Well it sounds as though you are deliberate in your method of trying to reach a decision. You lay out the choices and then fathom what the outcome will likely be. So your ultimate decisions are not made haphazardly, that is a very good thing. Life is full of choices and how we arrive at those choices should be through deliberation in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
