ecw homecoming tournament

hi fellow mylotters.
anyone watched the recent ecw episode wherein ecw manager introduced the ecw homecoming tournament to determine whowill be christian's opponent for the ecw title at royal rumble?
each week, a former ecw superstar will come to ecw and wrestle a current ecw superstar. the winner advances to a over the top battle royale to determine who will fight christian at royal rumble. sounds interesting and the new format is really creative in my opinion. glad to see something good is happening at wwe. hopefully, wwe creative things something as original as this for raw and smackdown. also, want to see an ecw original like the likes of sabu, tonny dreamer, sandman, or even rvd to join the ecw tournament homecoming and win it all back to cap off a great comeback.
i know its a long shot since he is already with strikeforce but bobby lashley coming back to ecw will be something great to see.
just my thoughts.

All of the rumors are that ECW will be shut down shortly after the beginning of the year. The watered down version of ECW has never been popular and is doing worse now in ratings than it ever has. ECW is set to be replaced by a different wrestling show and I can't wait.

No, I haven't heard about this new tournament yet since I live in India and here the show is not live telecasted. But this sounds to be a great way to pump up things in wwe world as we know that there are many wrestlers who would like to make a comeback in wwe and this would prove to be a better patform for them to see if they have still got it in them. So, much looking forward to seeing it on ECW!!

yeah, this tournament started last week. they had kane go up against zack ryder last week and kane won convincingly. this week they will have jack swagger face yoshi tatsu. winners will advance to the homecoming finale, featuring an over-the-top rope challenge on the january 12 edition of ecw on syfy. the winner of the challenge will receive an ecw title match against christian at the royal rumble. really excited to see how this one plays out. i hope a new wrestler wins the match and faces christian at royal rumble. kinda tired seeing the same old faces in a title match eventhough if it is only for the ecw title.

I haven't watched much ECW but I know that they are trying to vie with WWE Smackdown! and RAW to be a contender in wrestling again. I was hoping that the story lines would cross again where Edge and Christian would team up and do some awesome matches but Edge got hurt and Jeff Hardy quit. I think that ECW will be the catalyst that will help lots of new wrestlers move up the ranks. Christian will bring out the best in each one he battles.

agree with you there. the ecw roster has more personality than the smackdown and raw rosters combined. really like what they are doing with kozlov, regal, and jackson. the tension has built up and regal and jackson are teaming up against kozlov. i hope wwe creative handles this well and builds up both kozlov and jackson as good heroes/heels. i like to see both of these two guys go against each other and go agianst the other wrestlers in the other shows.
christian has been doing well as the face of ecw. his tlc match against shelton benjamin was great. really one of the highlights of that ppv. hopefully, they feature more of these ecw wrestlers in the other shows so that they can get more exposure and we fans see something different in each show.
