taking matters into my own hands

So after a year of exrusiating pain and dcotors telling me there is nothing wrong and here have an pain killer I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I did some research on herbal remides and found quite a few, I have started with the simplest cures though. Its been one day since I started taking them so no improvement yet. I also found a mild exercise program, which is going to make me hurt worse for a bit but with strengthing my muscles I will not get stiff so easy and it will help with the pain. Is taking matters into my own hands crazy though? Should I keep trying to find out what's wrong? Or should I just treat the symptoms and try to start feeling better?

hi kitttenskysong, what you are doing is very dangerous... its not going to help you in the long run... treating symptoms is not a good idea.. world will accept you only if you happen to succeed...

If you have any idea what is wrong you might continue using your own methods. IF you don't have a clue you might pursue doctor's councel while you use the herbs. I believe if I can make a situation better by using natural methods it's best all the way around. Most of the time it will work I think, if you know what the problem is. If you are doctoring something that's not wrong it won't hurt you but it won't fix the source of the pain either!

Well since everyone including several members of my family keep saying Fibromyalgia I researched herbs that were good for people with that. took the ones with the least chance of side effects and started there.

taking something into our own hand can be a desperate move to speed up something we want to attain. but for matters of health, its still best to consult the doctor and then analyze if what the doctor suggested is beneficial to you or working against you. after all, its you and your body will get the effect and will suffer as well if something will happen. take care of your self..

If your doctor can't or won't or doesn't know what is wrong with you, then by all means keep researching and trying different things and see how they work out. Taking matters into your own hands for your health is how some of the most bizarre and uncommon diseases get diagnosed. Just take what you find with you to your doctor and show him/her what you are doing on your own.

It is good that you are taking matters in your Hands but I would still see a Different Doctor and find out what is going on, if you are in so much pain then there has to be something there and the Doctors should be investigating it further I really hope that they will find what is wrong with you

Hi, kittenskysong! Sometimes a person has to take matters into their own hands so that they can get the results that they needed. If a doctor is not giving you the results and answers then you will have to do it the way that suits you best. I had to do the same thing with a doctor that was not giving me the results that I wanted, so I just started treating my problem at home when I had it. He last gave me the impression that he did not really want to help me. So, I did not bother with him. You just have to take matters into your own hands. It is your body do what is necessary to heal your pain.

Maybe you should see if you can fine a doctor who will help you with your pain. You can ask him or her about taking the herbal remedies. You should not be in pain all the time and if you keep trying you might fine the right doctor to help you with your pain.

Yup, some things cannot be done by others and had to do it by myself. Even though I usually get advices from my wife over big decisions in my work and career, it is still considered as advice. the ultimate decision still comes with me.

There are so many avenues available specially on the Net which can guide you.I too do the same but I do have a doctor who I consult also. You are on the right path specially when you say the doctors seem to have given up on you!

um...if i have got a problem on my body,i prefer to believe the doctor,if one doctor have said doesn't matter but the problem still occur, then i will ask another.i don't suggest ourselves to handle the ills, because if we eat some wrong pills maybe the ill will be more serious

Nobody knows your body better than you do, so for you to even question your own intuition is tedious. Focus on getting better and realizing that doctors are not always correct, and in fact they limit your own ability to heal with their negativity(scholarly examination).
