Prayers - We all pray and most of the time it is for our selfish ends

We pray because we need something. Why then do we think those who pray are good, holy people. Is it not with a selfish motive that we pray? I am spritual but deep in my heart I resort to it because I want peace, tranquility and happiness - sounds selfish?

If your basic needs are not satisfied, if you have pain, you cannot concentrate on inner peace and self-realisation. If you are hungry, to whom will you go? You go to your mother right? In the same way you go to God to solve your problem. Once the problem is solved, you are peaceful and concentrate on God and inner peace. So it is not selfish deed. You are thinging of God for tranquility too.

allknowing but they teach us in church to go to God for help and does that make it selfish, we are his children after all, and sometimes we need help, the motive is not selfish it is what ewe were taugh. always take it to the Lord. you are nit picking I think. this is not selfish to want to have a better life, to want to live in a home again, not an institution. now we are not s elfish. I often pray for other people too.
