What makes you competitive in your own field?

Are you a competitive person in your own field? or just ordinary working employee? I think and people in my field agree that I am competitive. If you are too, then what do you think contribute to this?
I gain this through attitude and hard work. I am interested in my field and I read quite a lot during ten-working years. I renew my professional knowledge often. And charater determines competency too. If you are working in the right position, let's say an out-going person doing sales job or jobs involves in many communication, then you are propbably in the right place.

no, but most of them time i get real good favors from the ranks. not that easy when you're attractive.
