Why Did God Not Want Us To Have The Knowledge Of Good And Evil?

If I am reading the Bible correctly the knowledge of good and evil only passed to man because Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. A twist to this is maybe the best thing to happen to man would be that Adam and Eve ate the fruit so we all could have the knowledge of good and evil. I do not know why I have been thinking about this but I am, and would like your thoughts on the matter.

I think God created eden as a gift for the human race, it was meant to be heaven-like. He was very disapointed when he exiled them from his paradise, this is exactly what Satan the snake had planned.

Think back to when you were a kid, back to when you really didn't know what good vs. evil was. That time in our lives is a more carefree, happy time where we are free to dare to dream without the knowledge of the evil out in the world. Those are good times. That is what God wants for us.

Because when God created Adam, and later Eve... He wanted them to live according to the plan that God had laid out. When they deviated from that plan, they were driven out of Eden and were distanced from companionship with God. As God is good, and cannot abide with evil, God did not want Adam and Eve to have the knowledge of good and evil, He wanted them to have only the knowledge of good and the innocence that went with that knowledge.

Of course He knew, but we have Free will, as sndcain mentioned. The choice was theirs to make... and of course they made the wrong choice. God did not want slaves or mindless servants... which is why we were given Free Will. Even the angels have free will, and they have been known to go against God's will... or have you forgotten Lucifer's fall and the angels who joined with him?

First off, we fall into the realm of speculation at this point, so I totally admit I could be wrong and your thoughts are as valid as mine. Personally, I think God totally intended for Adam and Eve to eat from the fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil. I think that once Adam and Eve had the experience of following God and obeying his will, then he was going to give them the taste of the fruit so they could have free will.

He does want us to have it, we don't need to be Adam or Eve to know that. Good and Evil exists in everybody but good will not get you to heaven, evil will not send you to hell. Its about having a relationship with him so we can tel the difference in our actions towards others.

I think god wanted that we should have the knowledge of Good only. After eating the fruit, the sin entered into the world.
