I have been toying with different ideas and have finally decided to have BBQ'd ribs....because the kids go to so many different places and have ham and turkey that I wanted to do something different....we'll have twice baked potatoes...corn....a salad of some sort...rolls and custard pie...my son's favorite. So what's on your menu for CHristmas?

Hiya jillhill, That sounds great I can just taste all that now. I´ve also changed my mind twice already as to what to put. Afraid the economic situation here is influencing my choice. My mind says one thing but my pocket says no.!!!

great idea to depart from the usual ham and turkey! I don't have a christmas menu planned, per se, because we are doing pot luck for my christmas day lunch party at my home! some people have ordered shepherd's pie, some are probably bringing potato salad, and I think we might buy a chocolate cake or ice-cream.

cooking - yummy
I will be having a simple Christmas menu this year because there will only be three of us who will be here this Christmas. It's me, my daughter and our maid. My husband is abroad right now, so he can't join us. I will be having fruit salad, cake, pasta, chicken or pork barbecue and embutido. That's all. Advance Merry Christmas to you.

You bake a potato.....scoop the potato out and mash it like for regular mashed potatoes....then you put the mashed potato back into the skin...I sprinkle cheese and bacon bits on mine...then return them to the oven until the cheese is melted and the potato is hot...they are yummy!

It'll be turkey for us. I will be going with my daughter and her hubby to his parents this year. One year my daughter and family are here then the following year they go to his family. I'm always invited but until now I stayed home with my husband and brother in law. This year we are separated and my daughter didn't want me to be alone. I'm blessed to have such a good daughter, son in law and the most two wonderful grandchildren. The food will be in huge supply there as they are a big family and they have all kinds of desserts, salads, veggies and of course turkey, stuffing, perogies and cabbage rolls.

It is just the kids and I this year for Christmas, so we won't be having a huge meal. I got a spiral sliced honey ham the other day, so we will have that. I will also be making some sort of potato and maybe corn casserole. I am not sure what else we will be having yet.

Hi, jillhill. I went grocery shopping. But, I still have not found what I want to cook. I have some chicken, lots of it. I was thinking about making some Fruit Fusions jello as dessert. I wanted to buy a Fruit Cake too. I hope that I can decide on what I want to cook. This is going to be a very special day and I want it to be nice.

Hey Jill~ Now that sounds like a wonderful idea! I think I want to come to your house for Christmas! I was thinking about getting another turkey and doing another "Thanksgiving" Dinner again because we all love turkey so much! I know it's boring, but we really love turkey! I thought about making lasagna, but none of us are in the mood for it! The I thought about making a Roast Beef, but I think that will be our New Years Dinner! Just not being very creative this year!

We are going to order ours, ham and all the sides. We have to cook the ham but other than that we're not big Christmas kitchen people. Plus, its only 4 of us to eat it all and it would just go to waste and I don't like that. Yours sounds good though, I'm sure you'll be in a food coma after its all devoured.

Really i can't eat all the things on hte table. Also in dinner there are a lot of different things and i can't finish all my dish. I love things that my mother make every christmas, so delicious, i love to eat so i'm waiting for the christmas day also for food.
