Do you drink alkaline water? If so, why? What is your feedback in terms of taste, price and impact to your health?

hi there cianoy! yes I do but not so often. I sometimes bought Sierra Madre Alkaline water before going to work. It's more expensive than distilled and purified water but I like the taste a lot and the health benefits that it can give you is really great.

Yey! That's really nice of you to do. ;-) Get some sleep then. You might end up dozing off at work.

I've heard about that. Where do you buy it and how much does it go for? Would you know the PH too? I prefer the taste of alkaline water too.

Yes, I drink alkaline water and I think it tastes good...with it's health benefits - it gave me good metabolism and my bowel movement was good and much better compared to non-alkaline water. It also gives my skin a radiant glow because my skin used to be dry and itchy.

Interesting. I haven't read anything related to skin impacts. You attribute it to drinking or washing your face with alkaline water? How long have you been drinking alkaline water?

Hi cianoy, I attribute it to drinking alkaline water...i've been drinking alkaline water for 5 years now and before I have some sort of dermatitis that I couldn't brush off but with ingesting alkaline water, I noticed that my skin is more firmer and not itchy anymore. Maybe because it neutralizes the pH of my sweat and skin...most of all the toxins of my body are flushed out.

Interesting theory. I think I'll read up on that for my next Alkaline water article. I simply have not come across skin impact yet. Thank you for the information. By the way, do you find that it's priced higher than basic purified water in your area?

Hello Allen! Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know the PH level of the water you're drinking? I used to drink distilled water. I can detect slight differences in the water taste. But then again, even as a kid, I've been very sensitive with the taste of water. That's why I don't like drinking from the tap. The chlorine taste is too strong.

I have only drunk alkaline water before and it tasted good. I have heard that it is really good for the health but it is not that widely available yet. We only have water purifier at home to filter tap water.

Good feedback. It does have a smoother taste compared to distilled water, doesn't it? What sort of purifier are you using?

I drink alkaline water whenever I go to my Mother's house she uses Kangen water, I usually get a couple of gallons. I think she's had the machine now for about 2 years. It has 8.0. 8.5 and 9.5 PH for drinking and for medicine I think her machine has 7.0 ph. The 9.5 ph goes into your system faster. Since the 7.0 is a lower PH the medicine doesn't go in your system as fast. If you drink a higher PH when taking medicine it may make you feel weird or even sick. Since I have been drinking the Kangen water I have cut back on sweets and soda and noticed a significant change in my health. I think it tastes delicious, but my son had to get used to drinking it he didn't like the taste at first. I drink 9.5 PH most of the time. Also since I've been drinking it I have felt more energetic and have not needed my medicine for depression/mood swings. Here is a website on Kangen water you can check it out and learn more about it. http://www.kangenwaterusa.com/

Oh I forgot about price, she gives water free to friends, family and people at our church. I think her machine was over $2000, but I have seen some for as low as $895. When you think about the amount of money people spend on cleaning supplies, things to clean their skin, bottled water, soft drinks, etc, and how much that adds up a year. Buying a machine is saving money. This site is an example of the different styles and prices for water ionizers http://www.ionizedwatermachines.com/

You know I've gotten that feedback too that it takes a little getting used to before you can appreciate alkaline water. As for the medicine, I've read that it's advisable not to drink very high PH with medicine which is consistent with what you said.

I think your answer is NO then. ;-) Like all foods, water can either be acidic or alkaline. If you drink distilled or purified water, that's probably acidic because all the minerals have been filtered out. Alkaline water is on the other end. It contains minerals and counteracts free radicals in the body (the ones responsible for aging). From what I hear, taste-wise, the two types are noticeably different.
