Hi friends, what is the right way to charge a cell phone so that its battery lasts long? Should we start charging only when it is fully discharged or should we not allow it to discharge much?

hello phadagour, from what i learned when i had my first phone it is best charge the phone when it is almost out of battery, and when charging the phone should be turned off. the battery will last longer, and also not to charge it for too long. when it is already fully charged take it off right away from charging.

if its turned off, i think it will stay charged. i've had my cellphone turned off for a couple of days, forgot where i have put it, and since i dont use it that much then i did not look for it very hard. when i found it and turned it on, it was still ok... the battery did not run low. if its turned on... just on for days even without using it i think the battery will go low... i had mine left turned on, and battery is getting low even if i am not using it.

for a prolonged battery life, try recharging it only aftr it is discharged completely. or at a max, below 10%. And recharge it completely.i mean upto 100%. It prolongs ur battery life.

Well at this point in time, most of the batteries use are made of lithium and from what I understand there is no need to drain them when you want to charge. Unlike the old batteries which were made of Nickel Cadnium which retains memory and when you charge them you have to drain them otherwise the performance will be affected and will deteriorate later on.

Allowing the phone to completely discharge and recharging it to the desired extent will help the battery to last long.Avoiding over charging for the full night is harmful as there is the risk of voltage fluctuation. But we can't always wait for the full discharge as it may leave us without help, when we need to make a call urgently. So,it is advisable to charge the phone when you have 1/4 th of the battery charge.

I charge my phone only up when the battery is completely drained. One user said to charget it with it off. I usually have mine one when I charge it, as I am usually using it then. I will try to charge it up though, with it off, and see how much longer it lasts. I do only charge it up once a week now though, so for me that is a good battery, as it doesn't drain all that much unless I do on the internet with it, then it will drain faster. I try to do that though when I am charging it, so it really doesn't matter then. I don't know what difference it makes whether it is hcarged with it on or off. I suppose, charging it with it off probably does help it to last longer, but then not sure if there are any facts on that or not. Take care, and ahppy mylotting.
