Hepatitis, anyone?

My friend told me that my eyes are a bit yellowish. She also told me that I might be suffering from hepatitis. She wants me to undergo lab test asap.
I feel okay and I am sure that I am on a healthy lifestyle... the only asterisks are alcohol and cigarettes -- which I already stopped a month ago.
Add to that, she's the only one who said that my eyes look yellowish.
I'm young and It's very unlikely that I caught hepa but I will still get an appointment with a doctor.
What's your opinion?, Is hepa a communicable disease?

Hi, louierrific24. I am not what is wrong with you. I can't be too sure. The best thing is to do is to to the clinic and get yourself checked out. That way you can find out exactly what is wrong with you. I don't really know the symptoms of Hepatitis. I hope that nothing is wrong with you.

Hello Louie and welcome to my lot. My husband was studying to be a doctor when he was in the navy and he said this sounds like you could have hepatitis. He said it would be wise to see a doctor soon. It is a communicable disease! And there is no cure for this disease. I pray you don't have this disease but I would get to the doctor ASAP.

Thanks for the response and welcome, additional question; What are the causes of hepa?
If ever I do have hepatitis, I'm not so sure where I got it.

Your welcome Louie. I hope you do get to the doctor and it turns out to be something other then this disease. I hope it isn't something serious. I will keep you in my prayers though. Please let us know what you find out. I am concerned about this and hope it is nothing serious.

hi louierrific24 unless your skin has a yellowish tinge to it I doubt that you have hepatitis but you should have yourself
checked by a doctor just to be sure. yes yellowish tinge to the eyes maybe the first symptom but generally at least In my case I turned yellow all over and was sick vomiting for three days before, its not the end of the wo rld if you do have it.there are medications now to modify the vomiting that they did not have when I had it many years ago. its not deadly, and it is contagious, so you would have had to be in contact with someone who had it I would think. I was in the hospital for ten days but this was many years ago I doubt you would be laid up that long.but instead of fretting just get checked out. Without showing yellow skin or being horribly nauseated I think you do not have it,but do get checked out so if you are coming down with
it you get the right medical care. good luck. God bless.

I also think it's very unlikely for me to have it but I'll undergo some tests just to make sure. Yellowish eyes are the only symptoms I got, no vomiting, no yellowish skin.
