Well, you don't really have to do that weekly actually. It depends on your activity with computer also. If you often install new program/software, then tuneup utility should be used more often also. It can be used to fix some registry error, link error, etc. As well as antivirus, antispyware, and other anti-things. If you often surfed the net, often open external storage like Flash Disk, often visit unknown page from the net, and often install software that not digitally signed then doing virus and spyware scan regularly is a must. Other than that? well, you don't really need it :) I only use tuneup utility when I feel my computer are responding very slow than usual. And I'm only scan using antivirus and antispyware when I feel something wrong with my system (memory rise to 100%, internet speed getting slow, browser act suspiciously, etc). Regards~

Hi there, So do I. I always scan it weekly. You can setup the antivirus software to scan your computer weekly automatically. It's so convenient, isn't it?

I scan my work computer a couple of times a week; my laptop, I scan most days. I've increased the frequency of scanning (and actually bothered to download updates!) since I started posting on MyLot, due to trojan attacks. But I've not had all that many of late. I think internet security is going to be a major concern in the 21st century (though it is already!); I'm not looking forward to shelling out $1000s to Norton or whoever.

I'm doing scan virus on a monthly basis coz it's take long time to do it with several files to be scan. Complete scanning of my pc would take almost a day to be completed. Anyway, I have an updated antivirus that would catch incoming computer viruses.

I do it almost daily, because with all these earn-online sites, there is a lot of traffic going through my computer and I never trust all the sites that I surf, so as much as I hate to do it on a daily basis, I usually scan my computer as soon as I turn it on

Well, for me, I usually scan my computer 2 to 3 times per week. I always see to it that my anti virus is updated and working at its best. I don't want to end up regretting and losing my important files in just a jiff glint due to a virus. That would really suck!
