Hi there Nik and Buon Natale! I am accustomed to eating the panettone now but I prefer pandoro as it has no fruit and I find it less 'dry'. I took panettone home to my parents for Chrsitmas when I was first here but they were never very enthusiastic about it as it is not like British cakes and pastries. I hope you will have fun this Christmas, despite the bad weather, and I wish you and yours a happy new year too!
