Each one of us have different fascinations for things we come across in life. Even when we were at school, we had different affinities for different subjects. All along during my high school years, I was so fascinated with "Geography". So interesting to learn about countries around the world, amazing places, cultures, people, natural resources, climatic conditions, and so on. In fact, it is that affinity that makes me interested in travelling to countries around the world today. How about you ? What was your favorite subject at school ?

Thanks. I played the violin. I was in the orchestra from age 9 to 18. I'm sooo rusty now. But they say it takes 20 years to be a violinist so.. if I ever pick up my violin , it wouldn't take too long for me to get take into shape.

I loved English. I still love to write and for some reason, I'm fascinated with editing papers. I'm really big on grammar and always strived to perfect my commas and stuff. Math was definitely my least favorite subject.

Were you fascinated by Geography? Wierd... I always thought that geography was the worse subject ever, but it really depends in the teacher. One teacher can make the whole class lose interest in that subject, but another can make the whole class love it and perk up whenever they hear about it. To me, my favourite subject was always science, but I can put that down to my yr 3 teacher teaching me about it. :) And I loved it.

The best thing at school was math :) Maybe because i was just good at it . I never study for math or anything never opened a textbook or did homework i just did everything in class :) Well it was good times , and the teacher scolded me alot for missing for like 60% of all the classes :D But well i scored perfect score on tests and exams so it was not big deal and the teacher let me off the bat :) Damn i miss school .

English was my favourite and best subject at school. I have always loved reading and writing. Maths and science were my worst subjects. I saw them as cold, one sided subjects compared to the imagination and flexible nature of language. I failed maths and science at high school but always did well in English.

Not being in school was my favorite subject as a kid. Mostly because I read a lot at home and had already learned most of the stuff they were teaching, school was a bore and recess was he$$ since the other students and some of the teachers called me mean names.
@greenline (14838)

Really ? Why did they call you by mean names ? Oh, they should not do that at all. Well, one can certainly also learn a lot of things studying by oneself at home. I am sure you are a very gifted person.

The one thing that interested me the most when I was in school was science and particularly the life sciences. It was my love of life science that led me to majoring in biology when I was in college and it is the reason that I thought I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. I still do love the sciences and love exploring them with my children through experiments and such, but I did make the decision to not go on to medical school when my oldest daughter was born.

I loved math. Especially algebra. There is something about the systematic solving of a problem, based on variables that I really like. Ironically, I also liked dissecting the animals in biology and learning about cells and how the body works. So, I currently work in the healthcare field. It is not as straightforward as algebra, but I do like the problem solving involved.

My favorite subject at school would have to be chemestry. I understood things so much better when it was hands on, and you could physically see what the teacher was talking about or how things would mix togeather and what the reaction ould be. If I could go back to school to study just that subject all over again, I would.
