Hi Just a thought,I ahve a three year old daughter and a sixteen month old son.My daughter loves her brother and helps me with everthing, Even whenhe was born she was nearly two and she used to help me with the nappy change ,his bath etc and used to imitate me in every way whilst looking after my son I always thank God that I was blessed with a adughter as I can see her instincts being a caring person and not a bully. What do you all think?

I have 3 sons between the ages of 4 & 4 months old. 22months between the 3 of them. Little girls can be very nurturing caring little people, but absolutely can little boys be too. Our 2 eldest boys help change nappies, clean up after themselves, put toys away. We are just very encouraging of their sweet personalities, they see helping us as fun discovering & it will set a path with their life skills. Our 4 & 2 year old even try to feed their little brother. So often we get the comments about the fact we have 3 sons & not girls. Of course they don't wear dresses or do all the girly things, but a boy can do all that too & I would not change my 3 boys for anything. They are such sweet polite loving things & I think it comes down to the parenting :)

Hi ruchimom, First of all congratulations, for getting a sweet little angel in your life. Yes, you are right; girls are always one step forward than boys. They may help their mothers in the little age. I am not lucky enough to get a daughter (I have two sons). My brother and sister have daughters so I know the nature of girls. Thanks for sharing about your wonderful daughter. Love to her and best of luck to you.

It doesn't matter whether a boy or a girl will be the first, what important is that we are blessed with kids that we will take care of and will take care us also and will love us back. I have 2 kids and the first is the boy then next is the girl. My boy loves her sister so much. That's all and have a great day!

My only child is a girl. I have to say I love her with all my heart and soul. I wish on all the stars above I had a boy child. Girls can be a hand full at 15.

Well, I prefer to have a son as my first child. I do agree with you if the first child is a daughter, then she will help to take care of the family and also the younger brothers or sisters. But I always think this will quite a heavy burden for a girl, she may even need to do some heavy work, such as climb up and down, take heavy stuffs, etc. Perhaps I have an elder brother, I always think it's nice to have an elder brother taking care of me, bringing me out for fun, and protecting me. He can really protect me from being bullied by others and he took well care of me too.
