Passenger Bill of Rights

How do you feel about the new regulations that would fine airliners $27,500 per person if they forced passengers to stay on a plane that is not departing for longer then 2 hours without providing food and water, and if longer then 3 hours, offering the passengers the option of leaving the plane? Do you think this will help the airline industry or hurt it? Do you think it will help the passengers?

That would be a great helpful bill for the convenience of plane passengers. I am in favor of the bill I hope it will be successfuly approved and become a formal legislation. This will serve as an eye opener for airline operators to become more reponsible in all their dealings related to the business they are engaged into.

I agree; I think if nothing else this will get Airlines to be a little bit more aware of their passengers comfort over the bottom line.

I don't know if a fine is necessary but I also don't think that sitting on the tarmac for 2 hours is necessary. If there is something wrong with the plane or there is a weather issue keeping the plane from taking off, let the passengers sit in the boarding area until the problem is resolved (although it's a toss up whether you'd be more comfortable in the padded plane seat that has a full back but no leg room or the hard plastic seat in the boarding area that has a back that hits the bottom of your rib cage but allows you to stretch your legs.....).

True enough, though I do think a fine is necessary, maybe not that high but still, I don't think it's unreasonable to allow people to actually leave the plane instead of sitting with no option to either reschedule, get a hotel or at least move around and get food.
