In the season finale of Monk, which I love, the poison that Mr. Monk was poisoned with is actually very effective poison according to the Discovery Channel. Unless they can isolate the source, your victim is dead within 72 hours. The compound can be combined in 13 ways. I wonder why the Discovery Channel (or any news organization) would feel the need to tell you this. Isn't it a good possibility that some wacko is going to apply this knowledge and murder their poor wife or someone? I've always wondered this about news programs based around murder. If I ever get cable back, I plan to write a short story about a woman who murders someone based upon watching the Discovery Channel and writing down all the ways people get caught when they murder people. My guess is that there will be about 300 ways to kill someone that will be explained to you over the course of a week. Am I the only person who thinks this is dangerous and maybe should not be publicly broadcast?
