Have you shopped at those Warehouse clubs, like SAM's, BJ's, and Costco? I have membership with SAM's, and I think about join Costco since my friend strongly recommend it to me. Surprisingly, my friend told me that he purchased a Television over 2 years ago. He could bring it back to Costco, and in exchange with a new one, he just paid the difference in balance. I just wonder if he really can do that. I heard some people also said that, they bought a computer some years back, and they simply bring it back to Costco, they are more than happy to exchange a new one for you. I just wonder how Costco gonna make money like that. Do you have similar experience with Costco like I described above?

I just got my first sam's club membership like a month ago. we went down for the first time a few weeks ago. I like it so far. just on batteries i saved like $20 and I only paid $40 for the membership for the whole year. I have never heard that about costco, but there is no costco anywhere near hear that i've ever seen so that could be why. did you check their website? if that is a deal they offer it might be listed on there.

Oh yeah. I ain't lie to you about the Costco deal. They really offer you like no - time limite for returning merchandise policy. You have not to worry about an old tv or old pc something like that. If you like, you can return it anytime you want for any reason.

My step-mom is an RTV (return to vendor) clerk at Costco, which means that when items are returned, she's the one that sorts them out to put them back on the floor, sends them back to the vendor, or destroys them, depending on what the vendor wants done with them. The subject of items being returned after outrageous periods of time has been brought up so many times. She has had tvs returned after 10 years, loaves of bread with one slice left, etc. She has brought it up with her manager and told them how much money Costco is losing with this practice. The policy was supposedly going to be changed, but never was. It's very hard on the RTV clerks when people return outrageous items years later and there is nothing they can do with it (the items have been taken out of the computer and the vendors are no longer in business). The customer should also realize that it's wrong to be returning things after that long. The item obviously satified them for that long, so it's not defective and there's no reason for it to be returned. If it's worn out after 2 or 3 years, that item has reached the end of its "lifespan" and the customer knew that it wouldn't last forever when they bought it. They are knowingly costing the business that they "love so much" thousands, even millions of dollars, which also means that it's costing employees their jobs because Costco can't afford to pay them anymore.
