Before I thought about flying I had dreams of dying in a plane crash, the only way that I broke this fear was to take a long flight of about 2 hours, and boy o boy was this an experience for me. In closing, are you afraid to fly.

I am! That's why I prefer to travel by land. I was never relaxed in an airplane travel, especially when there is turbulence or air pocket... Horrifying experience for me.

Even though I did not get many responses on this topic, I must agree with you on the frightening air pocket experience, it is indeed a most scary life changing experience.

Yeah. That's why every time I ride an airplane, I always feel that it's my last day on earth... hehehe

I love to fly. I was a little scared the first time I flew, because I didn't know what to expect, but now I will get on the plane without worrying about it. For some reason, I do not handle the take-off very well, but I am fine once I am up in the air, and landing usually doesn't bother me. I don't know why taking off bothers me so badly, but flying is fun once the plane is airborne, although I do get bored on long flights, because there is really nothing to do except read or something like that...

I am very keen on traveling and because I love far away destinations I have to fly in order to reach them. I flown to St Lucia in the Caribbean when I was a teenager. Then I flew around the world when I was aged 20. At age 29 I flew to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. I know some planes crash but I don't focus on that. More car crashes happen in the world than planes crash. I don't like the extra security measures like not being able to take a bottle of drinking water. Water on the other side of security can be pricey. Often I pack a large bottle of water and put it in my hold luggage. I find carrying my kids and their buggy through security challenging. That is because my toddler son is disabled and he can't walk. On the plane I like to get a seat next to the window so I can see out. On plane journeys I have seen the pyramids of Egypt and the islands of the Maldives. The best view was Sydney Harbor's opera house and harbor bridge. Wow!

No, I am not afraid of flying on an airplane. In fact, I love riding on an airplane. I like the feeling of being up among the clouds and in the air. When I travel, the first thing I always look forward to is getting on the airplane. The only thing I don't like about it is when the plane is taking off. I sometimes get dizzy from it especially if the take-off is a bit rough.

I sometimes experience this type of dizziness and slight nausea while taking off, this is why I began taking motion sickness pills, that work very well with no side affects.

No I enjoy more my travel when im on a plane, less effort, not time consumming but much expensive than land transportations. At first it is natural to feel a little fear, but it will be conquered as you get used with it.

My fear of flying is no more, but I still have a fear of flying without my own wings.

I'm not afraid to fly but I always choose the best airlines in order to ensure that my flight will be very smooth abd turbulence free. :-) However, I recalled being pale and cold during my first flight. I got so paranoid because there was a turbulence when the plane took off. After that, I overcame my fear of flying because the airlines that I choose to ride provides me with the best service and makes sure that I'll enjoy my flight.
