palindromes

i can't be the only person who has noticed an awful lot of discussions on this subject in here. some from people who are very keen on them and some from those that dislike them - it is interesting to see so many people with strong opinions on word play. so do you know any good palindromes - there are some famous phrases (madam i'm adam) and lots of single words (hannah) - do you remember or have you come up with any yourself?

There are lots of famous small ones like radar, but the famous longer one I know is Was it a car or a cat I saw? I don't like or dislike them but they are interesting.

Now anagrams is another matter all together. I love anagrams. On a similar line, I love to name people according to their car registrations. Do you do that over there? We had a friend (a pastor) whose rego was OQD... (I forget the number). We named him One Queer Devil. He changed his plates, making the excuse they were stone chipped. My old car was BMS - Becoming More Senile. My new car is IJU - I'm Just Useless.

what were his new plates? anyway i think some people do this over here but i have to say nobody i know has. the possibilities could be funny mind you. it is done a lot with initials of governmental organisations though.

Because I'm a southern redneck NASCAR fan, one of my favorites is RACECAR. I can also think of "noon" and "mom"...and the name "Elle". When I was in high school our arch rival was a school named after a town that is also a palindrome...Glenelg.

bit dull. there was only one secondary school where i was brought up but my town was at war with the village 10 miles down the road. now and again the lads from mine would decide to have a fight, walk it and then have their brawl with the other set. utterly ridiculous. incidently most people leave this area as soon as they can, not sure why...

Hi bunny, I'm only stopping by to add potatoes as some moronic type has landed you with a 'poop' tag.

I presume it must have been one of the politicos as its their kind of language. I spotted the teenager has returned in the most sulky of moods.

hiya, thanks for stopping by. not sure who added 'poop' but it seems appropriate - a common palindrome round these parts. in fact few discussions are complete without it.

they on the whole prefer a vast number of slightly ruder synonyms for 'poop' (in some ways their vocabulary can be very impressive, many 6 year olds might well be jealous) - i suspect this tag was a joke.

How about, 'Dog as a devil deified lived as a god?' One more question: why is it in politics? Is it because of the strong opinions on them? Or are you just being a contrary bunny? Oh, that's three questions, isn't it? - no four! Any advance on four? That's five now - I'm off!

you got it. now who added 'poop' to the tags and why? because it is the most popular palindromic word in this section or what?
