Eat native delicacies such as puto bumbong and bibingka make a new and different hand made ornament for the tree each year. There are lots of ideas in craft magazines and books at the library, as well as online. Hear mass on Christmas eve with the family and dinner at our ancestral house with other relatives Decorate Christmas cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and other decors. Make little neighbor gifts, such as a loaf of sweet bread, or a plate of cookies or fudge. Deliver them to all of your neighbors. Adults have eggnog on Christmas eve, children get read The Night before Christmas and are asleep as the last presents are put under the tree. Stocking are filled, to be given eary Christmas morning so the children can wait until after Breakfast to open their presents. Guests ofen arrived after noon for a big meal around 2:00 This was pretty much what use to happen, my family did it this way and so I brought these customs to my marriage and on to my children's families.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom had these tiny mailbox ornaments on the tree. Someone had woven them for her as a craft project, and she had one for my sister and I. The doors opened and closed on them just like a real mailbox. My mom would always put us some money in those mailbox ornaments. It always seemed that no matter what else we got for Christmas, my sister and I always looked forward to opening those little mailboxes. My mom passed away in 2001, but my dad still has those mailboxes at his house, and he puts them on the tree every year when he and my step-mom decorate, although I haven't been home for Christmas in so long that I haven't gotten to open it and look into it...

Hey incredibleDNA, I guess for our family a memorable Christmas tradition is us eating pies every year. Despite our different life styles at home, we always come together to eat my mom's famous sweet potatoe pie. All of us would ask for seconds because it was soooo good. My mom had to make 3 pies worth so everyone can have seconds or even thirds! Happy mylotting and happy holidays!
