Do you like the Google Fadein

Recently, google added the fadein effect to its homepage. When the page is loaded, only the search bar and the logo plus 2 buttons are shown. When we move our mouse, the other objects fade in. Do you like this effect? do you feel it is unnecessary for google to do this??
