Do you have a Christmas routine?

Christmas is usually so chaotic that we have sort of a routine that we try and stick to. We go out with my dad on Christmas eve and exchange gifts. Then we have Christmas Day at home. We all open one present on Christmas Eve and its usually the christmas pajamas if I can remember which gift they are.lol Then we wake up really early and do it all before dawn. Then we spend the rest of the day relaxing and the girls are putting all their stuff away. Its nice and quiet. Truly magical because you are spending time together. We did all our traveling on Christmas eve. How about you? How does your holiday go?

Its just pretty nice and quiet. We open the gifts in the morning. We chat and talk about them. Then we go and prepare the dinner and treats before other family members come over for Dinner. ITs just a nice time to get together and chat.

That sounds PERFECT Nijolechu!! Just right. Not a crazy day where you never have a chance to sit down. I hope all goes well. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope Santa brings you all you wished for. dl

On christmas eve we usually go to a German friend's place. I'm half Danish, and Danish and German Christmas celebrations are very similar. Then on christmas Day my husband and I either go to a relative's house, or do something on our own. This year we went to Toronto, and had a nice vacation.

You know this may sound funny but everytime I see your name I think of Hans Christian Anderson movie and stories. Most of the christmas stories have come from a danish background. I know its probably not the way I envision it but You must have had some great christmas'. I think that is probably about one of the best ways to spend christmas ever. You are soo lucky. Next year let me know when we are leaving. I am inviting myself. I'll even bring presents.lol Happy Holidays Danish! dl

When hubby was alive and working I would decorate where ever we were and the kids would get their Christmas there then we would go to Tenn. To his dads and I would have all those kids cut a tree and we would decorate the tree and then I would got buy them some presents for if I didnt they would never have got presents. Now SInce we retired here adn hubby has passed on 5 years ago. We still put up the decorations and they have sure grown in the 10 years we have been here outside and in side. And we hae Santa come for grand daughter then layter in the day we either have dinner here or like this yuear we go over to my sons house for dinner!

For the past so many years I spend Christmas Day with my sister and all the other members of my family that are in Trinidad. We usually have lunch and then sit out in the porch and drink and talk and have fun till late at night. I have a sister living in Barbados and a brother in Massachusetts who sometimes come home ( we are all from Trinidad ) for Christmas and then the family gathering gets bigger. Its usually a lot of fun and makes for an enjoyable kind of reunion at Christmas.

Hey dl! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Your Christmas "routine" sounds like one right out of one of those "Christmas Stories" that I have always read about and wished for! Christmas PJ's and opening Christmas Prezzies before dawn! That is something I have always wished for, but never had! Right now it is 11:14PM and my boyfriend is sleeping, my cats are restless and I'm trying to keep them away from their Christmas prezzies and there is no Christmas pjs for anyone! I am feeling kind of sad being alone on the computer her on the Lot! But, I have to keep an eye on the cats! They just are bound to get into trouble! I only put up a tiny 2 foot tree, but they can still wreck havoc! Enjoy your holiday! Hugs, Leslie

For the last eleven years now we have had a routine. My husband and I put the gifts in the car and the food I am to bring and we go to our son on Christmas Day. We eat our meal and then we open presents and take pictures of the kids. Then we play a few games and later in the afternoon we eat pie. Then my husband and I pack our things up and come back home.
