Is anyone familiar with netbook style laptops? They are laptops that are small and have no optical drive. They are made for portability and simplicity for web surfing and word processing. I have an Acer Apire One and I love it. Since seeing mine, I have 3 other friends that have purchased some. The best part is, they cost between $250-400!!! That's it! Mine cost $300 for 1gb RAM, 160GB HDD!

Yes netbook are simply and created for internet surfing!!They are nice normally as regard design and have an high portability!!Unluckly i think for a real simple use in mobility it can be ok but for a more advanced one really awful!!processors are really slow and ram really poor...so for that costs are really low as the general performances of this small pc!!i hope they will create small pc but with a configuration more powerful than the netbook now really spread on the market!!

my netbook is completely adequate for everything it is designed to do, basic word processing and internet browsing. i also do a lot with media on it, converting movies/messing around with audio files.

Netbooks are cute, a lot of brands come have these things made in different colors, lol! My dad has a black Asus Eepc. I'm not quite sure about the exact specifications of his netbook. I do know that it has a 1.3M built-in web camera and has a 10" screen. I find the keyboard small though. Sometimes, I also feel that netbooks are too fragile :)) Lastly, one downside indeed is that they do not have an optical drive. But overall, netbooks are great if you love to travel cause it is really light and does not take up much space. They function well and are very very cheap! Atleast when compared to huge laptops :)

i think that computers and cellphones are getting smaller in size, but more powerful in memory. I'm told that my cellphone has more power than the computer on the space shuttle that went to the moon. LOL That's pretty freaking amazing. Technology is advancing at an astonishing rate.

I bought a net book this month. It was made by Packard Bell. It weighs 1.3kg and has a 1 GM memory. The best thing about it is that it has a 250 GB hard drive. I really like it and it works with Windows Vista. It is great for using when I go off traveling.

My sister has one of these. It's convenient, although a little hard to get used to. She has a laptop, too (and I have NEITHER lol!). She likes the net book, though, because it's more compact - smaller, that is, and she can more easily take it to work. It literally fits in my purse (although my purse is the size of a tote!). She has an HP and it hasn't given her any problems. I think it's a really good idea..I gotta get one!

little laptops? - well i have no need for one myself but my mum has one and finds it brilliant, especially as she has been ill recently and likes to watch and listen to things in bed.
