Ordering food online....

United States

Hi everyone, I was on a website a few days ago looking at various foods.Pastry mixes, cheeses and such. Things I could never find locally. I would definitely like to try some of those things but.... I'm a little concerned about to food-by-mail process. Has anyone ever done it before? Did it still taste fresh? I know most of the food at the grocery store travels thousands of miles before reaching the supermarket shelves but this feels different to me somehow.

I havent bought any food online. Its a big risk in the part of the consumer since many foods are easily perishable. I advice that a buyer must only buy processed foods and avoid buying fresh foods to ensure a good quality of the product. Then make research on the company/seller reputations and read the customer feedbacks. Lastly, dont buy bulk for the first purchase. Learn to try the product first.

Ordering food online is kinda.. HOw those foods arrived on the shelves of supermarket, will also go the same way to your house ^_^ Nothing changes, even for frozen food products.. haha =D PLus, u have to try it to know, for many areas have different methods of preparations for delivery, and thus things might end up better than u expected?? OF course, they are always bound to have delivery charges.. haha =D

I've never done it before but I wouldn't trust buying food things online. I don't like buying stuff from UK cuz you can't trust anything now a days. But if you want to do it then go for it. Don't make us stop you. But yes I would always double check the cost because some people over price to make more money off you! Especially internationally.

Hi, I placed an order ages ago for some spices to be shipped out from the UK as they cost so much out here. I managed to stop the order in time when I realised they intended to charge twice as much for the postage as they did for the cost of the goods. I think I'd think twice before ordering perishable goods online though.

Home made food is the best for all times. If you want to test this special foods, please try these at home. If it is not possible to try at home, then you can buy these foods from restaurant. For quality foods please buy these foods from a good restaurant.

I've only ever bought dried food online, such as green tea, noodles, miso soup mix. I know people do order fresh food online, and swear by it! Perhaps try a very small (and cheap) order first, see how it goes and then report back to us ;] hope this helps!

Actually, I also seen that via net online but I have not yet tried to order some of the items there. I have a friend who tried to purchase an item via online order system and she was disgusted. It took long before she was able to receive the package although she had paid already. There are many items can be purchased via net order but be cautious for there are some sites who are said to be a scam site. Advance HAppy new year guys..
