Of the past four years, I have spent three Christmas alone. There was the one year that I got what I later realize was the pitty invite to a coworkers house. It was so awkward. I felt like I was the person out of place. The first year that I spent Christmas alone I pretty much tried to deny that it was Christmas it was a pretty painful Christmas. This year it was me and TIgger (the cat) home alone together. It was okay! A normal day, we did not decorate or anything just do not have the time with finishing up my Master's degree. Actually, I need to look at the AEPA Subject Exam for Elementary Eduation. At least this morning when I woke up I could admit it was Christmas as I rolled over and told Tigger Merry Christmas. By next year, i will be done with school, so I am hoping to decorate and maybe celebrate a little. Too me Christmas is about spending it with people you love. Who knows maybe by this time next year I will have decided to start dating again (just broke up from a long term relationship 2 months ago). Right now I am chosing to take things one day at a time. It is the only way I can face life right now! aireanna18's home page: http://www.xomba.com/user/aireanna

I have spent this Christmas totally alone, as I have done every Christmas since 1987. I prefer my own company over the Christmas period, as it means I can truly relax and do exactly as I please without having to worry about doing something round other people's houses out of politeness, which I may hate yet I have to pretend not to hate just to be good-mannered. I like peace & quiet, I like to eat my own food, play my own music, dress how I please and do exactly what I want. I can stay in bed the whole time if I wish, and I don't have to worry about being at anybody's house at a certain time, then trying to invent excuses for when I have had enough and want to leave. I shall be spending as many Christmases alone in the future as I possibly can manage.

I can imagine how relaxed you could be staying alone at a period like that but i wouldn't know how possible it would be when there is a bigger family,i mean with children and others. Thanks for your contribution.

Hi alpha: I would have been Home alone this christmas if not for the fact that a whole heap of relatives and friends decided to crash land at my home on Christmas day. I had to do lunch and stuff; but it was fun and it also gave me a nice warm feeling that i had not been forgotten. However, although I do not mind being alone every days of the year including on my birthday, I just don't want to be alone on Christmas Day and I'll make sure it wont happen again. Hope you had a wonderful christmas and was not left "Home alone"

What a surprise for you at a period like that.I like surprises of that kind, but the most important thing is that you had a wonderful time with those people even if you were not expecting them.Have a nice day.

Sometimes we found ourselves in situations that we ask why me. My husband left the house to be with his family today living me alone in the house, but thank God i canrun around with my 17months old in the house. So my answer to your question is Yes i will do it again! i did not choose to be alone today but since he went out i have no choice than to be happy and greateful to God for the life he gave me. magnus1

There might be so many things responsible for that, but i think going deep into their affairs could be insulting and rude, unless she doesn't mind ofcourse.

Hi, alpha7: calibrating christmas means for me that another year has been passed, so first i like to gather with my family, friends start the new year by smilling, injoying and playing. but after that i like to be alone, just to remember all things had been happenend to me either god or bad, to get a lisons for my next new year

Reflection on the past year you mean? But,christmas is still a week away before the end of the year. Well,a whole week of smiling and gathering together with the family means a lot to the stock for the year ahead.

Hi, alpha7. I did not spend my day alone. My kids were at home with me. My husband was too. Next year, my kids will be at home with me. I don't think that I could ever have Christmas spent alone by myself. There is bound to be someone at home with me.

Thank you for that. Most people do not find the season a time to relax though, but spending time with their friends and most especially, their families. So, if you can still have the time to relax,it would be very fantastic and worth it.Have a good evening Anneleia.

I've spent a couple of Christmases on my own and don't really like it, it's kind of like "just another day" and really boring. No, I don't like being alone on holidays but sometimes my family has other plans and I'm on my own.

Although I did not spend Christmas alone this year, I have before in the past. Although many people are okay with being alone during the holidays, I felt alone and sad (the rest of my family was out of the state). I tried to make the best of it by cooking myself a nice meal and watching Christmas specials on television.

I wasn't alone for Christmas, but I probably will be for New Years Eve. It doesn't really matter to me. I always hated New Years Eve anyway, people try so hard to have a good time it's depressing. Not to mention I don't like being around a bunch of drunks. I am disabled and there are a lot of places I can't go and it will be easier to stay home anyway.

Hello alpha7! I`m sitting just for a sec and going to celebrate christmas with my family.. But anyway i have celebrated christmas home alone, watching the film home alone maybe 2 times :P But i was alone only the first time, and i did not invite any friends, because i wanted to chat, with friends, not to make a cool party at home .. But the second time i invited 4 friends..We eated, celebrated, put some presents under the holiday tree :P But i don`t think ill be alone again, because my family is now getting dismission for the holidays :) But actually celebrating christmas alone is not so bad, because you can celebrate it how you want..You can listen to music..You can invite friends..So ill get up because we are gonna put the presents for opening under the tree, because we will open them soon :) Happy holidays - joro1best
