In life, there are many things in which we value: Love, Laughter, Success, Money, Respect If you had to choose ONE, which would you pick and why?

I value friends and friendship more than any of those. There is nothing that can't be filled if you have friendship. If you think you love someone without being their friend, then it really isn't love. What worth is money or success if you have no friends? And if you have friends, you have the respect of the people that you really care for...

Friends are the family you choose. Sure I have a brother, but if I wasn't related to him, I'd have nothing to do with him. Not that he's not an okay guy, but I honestly don't like him that much. Now, I like, and love, my sister, so do a lot of people. She is, like my mom, someone they always say how nice she is. I'm sure that those same people say something along the lines of how strange I am - and that's fine with me, my friends don't mind, we're all strange together!

Actually, i don't think that's strange at all. I have a sister who are not blood-related though i love her heaps and there are friends who i consider as family. =)

I would say money as with money one can get all the other things you have listed. It is folly to think that those who want money are bad. Not at all. Because I had the kind of money which I could use on throwing a party to the orphans this Christmas!

What good is love when you have nothing to demonstrate it? But if one has money lots can be achieved.

LOL, good point. I won't argue with that. ;)

That's is so sweet of you to throw a party for the orphans! But that came from your love for these orphans in the first place, right...? :)

I'm sure many thought "all of the above" is a good answer, but I think the right answer should be "none of the above". The thing we should value and care for most, is our health. Simply because if we are healthy, we can laugh and have fun. And we can enjoy our time, either by ourselves or with our family and friends. Not to mention we can work hard or harder when healthy, and gain money, success, respect and a lot more... Surely, love will find us easier that way as well:).

Hi there! You know, I think you're the first one in this discussion who has mentioned 'health'. Yeah, i agree. It's so important to maintain our health though sometimes it just completely slips our mind!

I would choose laughter. A hella lot of money would mean nothing without a cheerful life.

Ahahaha! Statistics show that humans need to laugh at lest 5 times a day. I heard about this fact from a very reliable source- a comedian.

That is a very good question! I'd have to say common sense. At least for myself, it keeps me sane and from doing something stupid. If we didn't have common sense, (and some of us don't) we'd be doing stupid stuff all the time. Common sense is what tells you it's stupid to run out in front of a moving car or it's wrong to take a candy bar from a convenience store. It's what tells us not to step in an ant pile because that'd really hurt! It keeps us from doing dumb things for the most part, assuming we listen to it. Although, considering that a lot of people don't use it, I sometimes joke that common sense isn't really all that common, lol!

LOL, that's a good joke especially since it applies to me! Unfortunately, in all's honesty, i sort of... really lack common sense and i have learnt to keep myself sane with such limited amount of coomon sense!

I would choose respect. Respect is very valuable. Respect gives you self esteem. Respect is gives you self confidence.

Hi there! I don't think anyone would want to be disrespected and when we respect someone, surely (hopefully) they'll respect us back!

Definitely Love, because with love, I can get laughter too. I mean, love is not just a simple word, but it definitely shape me today. I am like this because of my parents' and friends' love.

Why not happines? Happiness in whatever way one can percieve it. For some people it is success, for others it is love and etc.We all want to be happy, but we all have different definitions of "happiness"
• Australia
29 Dec 09
Yes, that is definitely true! That's why the things we most value will bring out happiness from within us :)

I would choose love. If love is in your heart you will definitely attract positive results. When you love someone/everyone, it makes you smile and laugh. When you love what you do, success will follow and so with money to compensate you. When you love others, you give respect to them. So love is so much powerful that it can make all virtues to follow.

I would say love because that is a basic human emotional need, and once one has that, in a way you can feel like a success. Love can also be considered a form of respect.

If I have to choose one I'll pick success mainly because I won't consider myself successful without someone loving me, without me being happy, without respect from other people and without financial security. =)

I would choose LOVE, because with love it will give you laughter, it will bring you success when you love what your doing, with it u will earn others respect and then money follows. If you will think about it, everything comes with love. You may choose the other values but when you have those it will never be complete without love.
