I've seen this video on YouTube where a lady in red who was thought to be mentally unstable got over the barrier and pulled the Pope down. Good thing he wasn't hurt badly. I am just bothered by these YouTube viewers who insulted the Church and the Pope, making fun of his fall and even calling him (not just him, but the Catholics, generally) pedophiles.
Why do they hate the Church so much? It makes me really sad to know that there are people like them who disrespect not just the Catholic Church, but religion as a whole.

hi mjcookie
I saw that video too. Those comments just made me sad. Knowing how f**ed up the world is, when not even a Holy man is respected anymore, people judge Pope Benedict XVI and the Church very lightly. I even saw a comment saying that it was Pope Benedict XVI fault the beginning of Iraq invasion,i say a big WTF here. He wasnt even chosen pope when the war began, and Pope John Paul II didnt gave his blessing to that either. People talk out from ignorance.
The Roman Catholic Church have given so much good to this world. It has mistakes? yes the members of the Church has mistake, but not the Church itself. Dont they know the percentage of priests that are pedophiles is a small minority. I blame the press for that, they made such an outrage of that, hence people generalize about ALL priests are pedophiles. Its an horrible thing and they should be punished by the lwa, but that doesnt make the Church evil or anything like that.

Kudos for your faith! :)
Yeah, the media makes a huge deal out of all these pedophilia thing. Worse is that media influences the people intensely. Some people just believe the media too much, not knowing that sometimes they overdo it just for the ratings.

i saw that on news last night. actually they were trying to investigate if its the same person who almost dragged him the first time. the only difference is the first time it happened, the girl never managed to get to the pope coz of the securities but that girl wears red coat just like the girl who dragged down the pope recently. people have different beliefs. with this issues, we cant really tell why it has been the treatment to us. nevertheless, faith keeps growing. happy new year mjcookie

Yes I watched video and I am not upset that people hate religion, I myself am not religious. But yes people on Youtube are very disrespectful, no matter what, the Pope is still an old man despite everything. People are going to make fun of everything, look at them as immature jerks who can't take anything seriously. I personally imagine human/wild monkeys at a computer screen laughing like a hyena while scratching themselves.....and my vision is probably not that far off.

you said it yourself the lady was mentally unstable that isn't hate is it.
Though same question could be asked about all the war's that religion has started over the centuries and will continue to start into the future.
To be honest we live in the country of free speech but with free speech comes responsibility, everybody should respect each others beliefs or lack of belief
but as I previously said there are many deaths caused by wars over the centuries the christians/catholics in the holy wars, extremist islamics in the modern day etc etc
it is wrong but it will continue into the future and into my childrens future simply because that what religion sometimes causes whether rightly or wrongly that is the bad side of religion.
