I was wondering how did you choose someone to be your friends here in mylot? Is it because you like the persons discussions, or you like the persons response, or the person choose your response as the best, etc.,?

Hi Careguarden, I often wait awhile before making a Friend Request because I want the person I am interested in becoming friends with to see my responses. It's almost like stalking (smile), I will generally know immediately from their posting whether this person is interesting and fun. Also, if the person responses to my comments, I know that this person is genuinely interested in their own discussions. Then I will stalk their discussions and respond to them. After a bit, I will then make a Friend Request. That way, they know that I am not just a "fly-by-night-requester". The discussions that make me think and make me laugh are the best and those are the individuals that I would like to befriend. But I am timid which is why I wait, I dislike rejection which is why I want the people I invite to be friends see a bit of my "sparkling" personality before asking. Of course if that person asks me first it's always a great feeling!

Hi Lina, Turkey is just wonderful thanks.Hope you enjoyed your dimsum with chilli oil and YOUR homemade bread. I'm just back from the market for a Turkish coffee break. I broke my own rules for you and picked you up before you had 100 posts, sometimes one can just spot the friends in the making.

Hi careguarden, I want people on my friends list who are interesting and have the same kind of thing in common, I have no interest in being inundated with low quality discussions. Even if I like what someone has to say I won't request them if they can't be bothered to respond to all the responses on their own discussions. I will have generally have bumped into someone quite a lot on the boards and thus have a sense of who they are before I send a request.

I make Friend Requests based on how much we appear to have in common. If someone makes a really interesting response to my discussions, or posts something I can identify with on other discussions, I'll visit their profile and look at their other posts. If I feel we'll be able to enjoy communicating on the boards, I'll put in a Friend Request, although I find I receive more FRs than I make. I certainly wouldn't just base it on a best response.

Hi care guarden: I pick my friends for two reasons: 1. According to what he/she says we have an opinion in common so i would like to keep talking with him/her or 2. I love the way he talks about a subject so i think this person should be very intelligent and it would be interesting to keep talking with him/her even if, in this case it's not necessary that we have similar opinions. I know it's almost impossible that I'll get to know someone here but the way we share ideas it's really nice and that's exactly what I love of the site. Thanks for asking me this question. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. Take Care. -Alvaro.

I look for common interests and also to see how they answer certain posts. For example, I would never be friends with someone who always puts others down. I have been very fortunate because no one acts this way in here. I always say yes to those who ask me to be friends.

Hi randy loves dar: I say yes to everyone that wants to be my friend. In fact i feel very happy of that because this makes me think that it might be something i have written that he/ she found interesting. I have no idea we can select a friend according to his/ her interests. I have done it only according to the kind of reposes that make me want to keep in contact with tha person. How does it work? Thanks for your answer. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. Take Care. -Alvaro.
