"You're my present this year."

I was sitting in my room alone yesterday, when the noise of a Folgers commercial caught my eye. It was about a son/older brother, returning home from volunteering in West Africa. They make their greetings and he hands his sister a present. She plucks off the bow and sticks it to him, and tells him, "You're my present this year." I really wish that I had someone that I could say that to, whether I saw that person every day or simply once a year. I have seen that commercial several times since yesterday, and each time it still gives me that same impact. Has anything had that type of impact on you lately?

That sounds awfully romantic, doesn't it? A little cliche, but romantic nonetheless. Sometimes I wish these cliches could be in my life - but that's why they call them "cliches" - they aren't realistic! I'm alone for the holidays too (I'm assuming you are too from your tone), which is actually really depressing. It sucks not having a significant other (who may or may not say something cheesy like that!) during the holiday season. But I always assure myself that one of these years, I'll fall in love and settle down and be able to buy my guy ridiculously cute argyle sweaters and boxers for Christmas. I guess I'm a little bit of a closet hopeless-romantic. lol.
