How do you sort out your mails?

I have spent about 2 hours trying to sort out my emails. I have been doing the same thing in the office.
I have never encountered this much of emails!!
I have tried sorting my emails by deleting some of them... or moving them from the inbox to another folder.
What about you? How do you do it?

I'm using a different email service, Yahoo actually.
I have tried creating folders for each sender but it still does not work because I do not get to read the emails and they just pile up! =(
I don't think Yahoo has the labelling service like gmail but thanks again!

I skim through the subjects of the E-mails. Quite often, I can tell by reading the subject if its something I want to read or not. I will read the most important then delete everything in one single shot. No point in wasting time like that you know? I don't really think sitting there for hours to sourt through e-mail is a valuable use of my time.
