Christmas has just passed and New Year is coming. People tend to eat great meals and enjoy big dinner during festivals. Do you mind eating lots of meat, chocolates, pizzas, cakes, candies......all kind of high calories food and drinking lots of achohol and soft drinks during those days? Or you do care about your health and choose to have a balance diet? I choose to balance my diet in weekly basis, i.e., if I had too much meat for some days in a week, then the other days of the week I will have more vegetables and fruits. Whenever I have some glasses of sweet drinks in a day than I will drink 2 to 3 more glasses of water to balance it. How do you treat yourself with, lots of heavy meals or usually light meals but heavy meals on occasions? Do you afraid of the effect of heavy meals? Wishing you good health and a Happy 2010! agonyaunt69 (7:38pm 27 Dec 2009, Hong Kong time)

asanlee and akiong, Thank you for your response. Not easily to get fat does not mean we have potential to eat a lot, people who suffered from high cholesterol are not a must to shown fat on their outlook. They can be slim, too. Unhealthy diet might cause high cholesterol, and high cholesterol might cause heart attack and stroke, so be careful! Good health is important to all of us. Oh, agonyaunt, it seems your diet is reasonable. Haha...I always lost myself facing yummy food.If the food is good for health, I will try to find recipe to make it delicious. But if I cannot make it yummy, I won't eat it, even if I know it's good. In the opposite, I really like barbecue, though I know it's bad for health. Maybe I need more self-controlling.

Yes, i prefer to eat food that good for my health. But i also eat some meals sometimes not routinely, it can say maybe one a month. But the most important is that we should maintain the body with the good food and don't to over when eating meals. Because something that over must be bad for the body, so i usually support it with regular exercise and avoid eating to many instant food. But i realize sometime we don't realize and don't care about it, because the side effect will not happen right know but it could be next 10-20years from now. So better prepare with healthy life from now for the better future.

Of course! I choose healthy foods because I love my body. I love my health. This is me. I don't want to destroy myself, my body. This is also the temple of God as stated in the Bible. God reminds us to take of our bodies, it is a temple of God. Destroying our body by taking in unhealthy foods is like committing a sin.

Just thinking of starting a new discussion of starting or maintaining good diet during festive season, and I came across your discussion. It is sometime very difficult not to have meat, cakes or any other high caloric food during winter. I feel very guilty after a 'good' meal but can't resist having it.

Hello agonyaunt69 me too prefer to choose some health benefiting diets while eating food.It might be regular or festival meal, better stick with mine normal diet.In my diet i include both veg and non-veg foods, for some vitamins and proteins for health.Often do try to avoid heavy meals as aren't that much good for our health as compared to our regular meals.Yeah i do eat a lots of meats, chocolates, cakes, ice-creams with some veggies when am doing my exercises.Else would prefer to go normal on meats and all stuffs and increase in vegie intake.Well me too like to settle for an balanced diet than having some crazy diet.Enjoy mylotting.

The wise answer is yes, of course I am careful with every bite. But the honest answer is that I tend to let go and take it easy on the diet front...after all, it's only a couple of weeks.... Plenty of time to "reset" in Jan... In addition, I feel I am careful throughout the year, so letting go for a couple of weeks in December is ok. After all, what is life if we don't let loose every once in a while?

When I was pregnant, I choose something that are good for health. In other times, I seldom consider this, and eat anything I like. Now, as my son is living with us, I used to put his health into consideration and try to gid rid of foods that is not good for health.

When craving takes over there is a tendency to throw caution to the winds and I satisfy my craving mainly chocolates but by and large I do pay attention to my weight and eat that which is tasty at the same time good for health.

Yes but not all the time. But I always consider balance diet and food intake moderation. My mother always serve meal with meat and vegetables or fish and vegetables, thats always been the combination. Then we have banana or apple or mango after a meal. During snack time I cant avoid eating junk foods such as chips and soda, but I see to it that there is always moderation.

I don't mind eating anything or too much. I mean, I always have an excuse for doing so, and that's because of Christmas and New Year because I can't help it. there's always abundance of food which I don't get to eat unless it's the holiday season. Durng regular days, I'm still not mindful of the food I eat. However, I really don't eat a lot. But one of my New Year's resolution (and here I go again with one.. lol!) is that I will be conscious of my health more and I'll start going to the gym again and have a more active lifestyle AGAIN. ^_^

I eat only two meals everyday. So i usually choose the food which is balanced in nutrition.I eat more vegetable than meat in daily meals while vegetable is more helpful to my health.Eating much meat may lead to some healthy problems such as fat or hypertension.Proper diet habit is important for us.
