Just a Week to Go Before 2010

In less than a week it will be 2010. People here in our country have gone holiday haywire since last week and you can see and feel it at the malls, groceries and even offices. While other countries are hectic with year-end reports, here in our country nothing can be done as early as the 20th of December. Anything you may want done has to wait till January or February of next year because people are on "vacation mode". Is it just me, or are other people concerned with the long holidays and nothing will get done until next year?
Let me tell you how bad it is. I went to an office last Monday (the 21st of December) somewhere in Ortigas. I was trying to cram appointments that day and I forgot the person I was supposed to talk to at that office. But I could not ask anyone because...both receptionists were already on leave and no one seemed to mind the people trying to look for someone in the office to talk to because it was also their Christmas party. The people in the office seemed to be more concerned with their kids and the gifts that were pouring in. Needless to say, my day was a waste and I have to wait until next year to get the things done on that particular office.
Its no wonder why our country never goes forward in terms of economy. There is so much red tape and nothing really gets done.

There are things called traditions and cultures. You are right that in other countries, they might be busy doing something else. That's their choice. Here, we always wanted to enjoy the holidays and there's no wrong with that. Remember that life is just a fleeting moment and we can not bring the materials things we possess in our grave. The point is, relax! If one of your days is ruined, don't ruin the whole week by fretting over that wasted day.

This problem usually occurs come year end because this is the only time that we get to have our vacation. I am also on vacation right now and I am spending most of my time in the internet because this is the only time that I can enjoy surfing and money making too. Better enjoy the holidays ..
Happy New Year to you.
