Well the first part of the final adventure of David Tennant, the 10th Doctor has shown up. What did everyone think? Personally, overall I thought it was a pretty good episode, thanks mostly due to the acting, the plot was like most RTD season enders, lots of plot holes and a big scheme that upon thinking about it doesn't make much sense, but it did have an ending that made me want the next episode NOW.

Hi AllenWiggs, I tried to watch it on Christmas Day but it was interrupted by all the family chatter lol. SO I caught the repeat of it tonight. It did have a few plot holes but I can over look them. Great to see John Simm back as The Master, although I am not sure about his new look with the blonde hair, his force lightening and his Heroes style flying about. So The Master has taken over the world and erased the human race! So I have to say I too can not wait for the next episode, although in saying that I will be a bit sad that we are losing Tennant. I just hope Matt Smith does a good job as he has some bif shoes to fill. I hope they do explain who that women was that appear to Wilfred in the church and on the TV, I have no idea who she is. Roll on New Years Day for the next one for the big finale

The changes to the Master were a bit odd, but I didn't mind so much, the Doctor's foes are typically more powerful then him, and the Master will likely return to a more normal Time Lord (at least in abilities) when he returns again later. I think Matt Smith will do well enough, he does have the benefit of Steven Moffat being the show runner, he has written some of the best episodes of the show since it's returned, including the Doctor Dances, Silence in the Library, and Girl in the Fireplace. If he thinks Smith is the right choice, I stand behind it.

I read somewhere the first trailers for Matt Smith as the Doctor will air on the 2nd in the UK. I think they are wanting to keep the first all about sending Tennant and Davies off properly. Or the info I got was just crap. I wait to find out not only about the woman Wilfred was talking to, but also what importance Wilfred holds. He did find the Doctor with ease, and has encountered him several times, sometimes without Donna around. So there may just be something special about him.

I saw the preview online, but haven't seen it yet have to wait a little while. Though the preview showing Timothy Dalton at the council meeting on Gallifrey is the President but no name is given, he has some of the mannerisms of the Master though. I don't know all of the background story only getting involved in the story with the arrival of first Christopher Eccleston and the departing David Tennant, the thing is knowing that Matt Smith has been chosen Doctor Who will not die rather regenerate. It would be interesting if it was a recycling, where he forgot the past x years and started with a clean slate. Having to revisit all his old companions and places to remember or discover parts of his past, starting with River Song who keeps a book on him, Captain Jack a man who could understand the pain of immortality, pity the dimension where Rose is is closed. Sorry about the rambling, I can't wait to see it. Happy Holidays.

Hi leeloo, I did read somewhere that when Matt Smith takes over they were going to do kind of a reboot of the show, how true that is I do not know but what you say about starting with a clean slate would make sense. I personally hope they don't go down that road as I have liked the continuity they have built up so far but then you never know what the writers might be planning. Only two more day to go before I get to see the second part of the Christmas special
