I think his name is Eric Carl? I remember having teachers read his books to us in school when I was young. He had a story about a spider or something,I dont really remember the story, I just remembered the pictures being bright and detailed.

I think I would have to go with the old but classic "Grimes Fairy Tales" the drawings are so very beautiful and they make you feel like you are there. That book was one of my favorites growing up and its a book all children should have..Its timeless. I also like Dr Seuss,,all the work in those books get the point across and they are fun. I think all kids should have those books too, It just seems like its part of learning to read and growing up..
