do you use paypal? is it a safe way to purchase stuff online?

Your friend must have violated their terms of service. I've used Paypal for years, too. I guess I've just been lucky that that's never happened to me. Some people have had their accounts hacked. You have to be careful who you do business with.

Paypal is the only online pay i will use while on the internet the rest seem to be reckless and do not meet my needs. I have been with paypal for 3 years now.

I think the problem is not only on the paypal security. Honestly talking, here we need to know what is the meaning of human error. In certain case, even the best internet security system could be hacked just because of a simple human error done by the operator. I think every online transaction services which mostly known as ecurrency such as paypal and others, they all have strong attention in security matter. But if one's paypal account has been hacked, it perhaps is because of the owner's careless. However, paypal always keep monitoring our accounts activities. And in some cases, when we logged into our paypal account from different place, or different computer with different IP, paypal admin will asking for verification while they locked some features from our account which mainly is the send money option for protecting us from stolen by other people, in this case is the hacker. The locked features will be opened back soon after we done some verification process. Perhaps we will saying if it's too complicated, but remember that there are our financial information, money access, and credit card access, so doing some verification for our own good is not a bad idea.
