Hi Karthi, Its true that we get addicted at every stage of life to different things and this addiction lapses after some time till we become crazy of another thing.Let me explain you my recent addictions and how i tried to make things out of it. Internet: When i got internet at my home.I was all excited about it.I used to infact spend 20 hours on it either chatting or browsing. This continued for 2 months, then i realised that i am wasting time.I thought of utilizing my craze inturn to gain me.I started reading news, articles, science related articles, browsing job oppurtunities.Coming to chatting i started talking with working professionals.Tried to know which software was in boom , which companies would suit my profile, how to improve my resume and many other things related to my career. This continued till i got a job and then my craze over internet decreased gradually. Shopping: When i started earning i really had a big craze for shopping.I felt like buying anything attractive i saw on the streets.I really didnt knew then why i was going so mad to buy things. Then i thought over it and decided to spend money on things which would benefit me and family. Then i started buying articles for my home, spending money to buy goodies for the street children, giving money to people whom i knew suffered from financial stress. With this change in activity, i got satisfaction that i m spending money to buy things for others.Their happiness is inturn making me happy. So try deriving benefits from your addictions. Now you say that you are addicted to you mobile chatting.Start chatting with people and try to gain their knowledge.Chat on important issues like your career planning, latest softwares in boom(so that you can plan to learn),latest developments in industry, debate on issues. All these things will benefit you inspite of you addiction. In other words you are gaining knowledge by chatting. Another option would be, start getting engaged in activites.Keep youself busy with your work.Associate youself with people who are much into other important things than mobile chatting.Being with them, slowly you will also develop intrest in work. Thanks Sailaja

I find myself being addicted to smokes, but that was to replace a bad 3 year addiction to reafer. I was so high all the time that I missed those 3 years of my life and don't even know where I was. I got out of it and started smoking ciggarrettes, now I can't seem to kick the habbit. I keep trying in hopes of being able to be completely free of all my addictions. Good luck to all who have an addiction.

I have no particular addiction as of now. Maybe when you reach my age of late 30s, you too will think less of your own wishes and fancies and more about your spouse and kids and your addictions will vanish on their own LOL…however, I must admit that I am addicted to good food. Its not that I am a glutton or can eat anything and everything in huge quantities, no, I am a small eater but a choosy one and I can never say good to tasty food.

Yes, I am definitely an addict for many things. I have my hobbies that I enjoy doing like puzzles. When I pick up a new puzzle book I will continue doing the puzzles until I complete the book. I have loved doing puzzles for a long time and I don't think it's a habit that will go away. Entertainment magazines are also interesting. I used to buy several of them every week. I loved looking at the pictures of how the rich and beautiful lived. I can't afford to buy them at this time so that habit has stopped at the moment. But it will definitely be one I will return to as soon as my finances improve. I am also addicted to reading romance books and "new age" books. I can't get enough of them and one leads to reading another. I try to keep my addictions to healthy things. If I see myself becoming addicted to something that is truly bad for my body or my mind I will break the habit as soon as I can.

I usually come out of an addiction after I realized that what I've been doing is hurting myself or people that I care about. Once I was addicted to buying shoes. I had dozens of them. When I realized that I was wasting money that I should have saved and spend on a holiday or car..I stopped it. Then I was addicted to reading magazines. I would read them everywhere. I stopped because I realized that it was shutting everybody else away. Nobody dared bothered me, and finally nobody wanted to bother me anymore. So there I was, one day I found out that the people I love are used to avoiding me because I'm always busy reading....! I've stopped developing our relationship because I had less time to pay attention to them.

Hey friend, its true that human gets addicted to different things in different stages in his life. I was addicted or more font of making greeting cards, handicrafts in my small ages. Then I got too addicted in a game called as Mechanics bought for my birthday by my uncle. I was soo much involved in that, that I used to make one thing or the other sitting in the same place for 3 to 4 hours togather, even forgetting to eat. Then it broke so I started to move out. I had an elder brother as my neighbour. He taught me to play shuttle. I was soo involved in that, that I play to that extent that a person can catch a bucket full of sweat from my body. By the time, I started to get more involved in Karate and started to win prizes which made me still more involved in it. And now I play computer games for hours togather. And I'll go on my friend.

Fortunately I am not addicted to anything. Actually you need to control your brains and instincts to avoid addiction from anything. No one can make you come out of it,you yourself have to realize what is good for you and what is bad. If you are addicted to something you have to make yourself believe that you can live without it also, its a slow process but if once you are able to come out of an addiction it will make you a lot more stronger and will boost up your self belief!
