When you get your cell phone bill do you know what all the charges are really for? And do you really take the time to look it over or do you just pay the bill? What I don't understand on mine is now they charge you for nine one one calls which I have never had to use "knock on wood" But shouldn't that be free?

For a few years now ALL phone compnies cell and land line alike are required to charge a tax of .50 cent(Us at least) in order to keep the service aviable for those who don't have any phone service. By charaging everyone who pays for phone service this small fee, they can cover the cost to keep the connection to send/recieve calls from 911 centers no matter you have phone service or not. Yes I pay close attention to what is on my cell phone bill. I noticed charges on my bill when I was with At&T. I was paying a monthly fee for unlimited texting, but I can tell you right now, I noticed my bill kept climbing. Now why would that be if I'm paying for unlimited? Simple, the service wasn't truely "unlimited" as thought to be. So I've switched carriers for that and other reasons, and read my bill if I notice a discripncey in what I'm paying. But I pay attention to the amount. I don't have a whole lot of money and I don't have time to be paying hidden fees. Taxes and sircharges I understand, but some of the other stuff redicoulous.

I know the feeling. I don't like seeing things that I totally just don't get it! I don't have time or especially the money in this economy for stupid hidden things either!

Are you from what country? In your country, do you have pre-paid phone system? Here in the Philippines, most cellphones now are pre-paid and only 2-3% are post-paid. Pre-paid cellphone system is much cheaper, and you can have control over your spending and calls. If pre-paid system is available in your country, you better shift to that. The reason they turned unpopular here is because we also experienced the same problems you are experiencing now. When pre-paid system was introduced, they became a hit. Almost all people converted to pre-paid cellphone system.
